This particular meter has some less expensive siblings that appear to have the same measurement circuitry. I also love the display. Easy to read and quite frankly, I'm sick to death of stacked rectangle numbers. The included leads are serviceable, but not much more. As far as I can tell, the accuracy of this one meets the published specs, but that's not the last word. The control syntax took all of 2½ seconds to learn. In my experience, a couple of the functions, frequency and capacitance, are never perfect on a general purpose DMM, and this one is as good as any that I've seen so far. No cooling fan... the several hours that I was using it didn't get warm, but it's winter right now. This goes for any meter. Don't trust the last digit. Between probe contact, environmental noise and rounding error, it's not going to be useful for anything other than comparison. (e.g., matching resistors.) That means that effectively it's really a 5500 count meter, but that hand-held is probably a 199, 320 or 550 count. In other words, the difference is actually more pronounced than it would appear. The lower resolution is fine for most applications. Do you really need to know that the NiMH cell in your hand has 1.2345V instead of 1.23V? On the other hand, calibrating analog electronics often does require this kind of resolution. If I see anything to change my mind, I'll update.
