Years ago I used to use Body Shop’s Instablur primer and it was fantastic at reducing oil/controlling shine until they changed the formula and completely ruined it. I tried so many alternatives and the best one I could find was Paula’s Choice Shine Stopper, which for me is still not as good as the Instablur was. I recently decided to see if there was anything new on offer and came across this one, which I ordered to try along with two others. I’m pleased to say I have been really impressed with it - my nose & chin are the areas that get the most oily during the day but this genuinely helps to control it and my makeup still looks good hours after application. Previously I couldn’t go very long at all without having to apply powder to absorb it, but now if I don’t get a chance to do this during the day it doesn’t matter as the shine is very minimal. I’m so pleased to have found this and I pray it’s not another one that will eventually be discontinued or have the formula changed!

I never needed primer until I reached 60. Then my skin changed and I struggled to get foundation to "sit" right on the end of my nose, centre of forehead and the skin under my eyes near my nose. It sort of pilled and looked flaky in those places. I tried different foundations but all did the same. So I looked into Primers. I tried Estee Lauder and Charlotte Tilbury primer but it was too thick and heavy and made the foundation problem even worse. Also very expensive. Then I trawled amazon reviews and settled on this. It is perfect for me. It is light, easy to apply. A little goes a long way and it is the perfect base for foundation. After applying this primer, my foundation covers nicely and sits perfectly to give even coverage with no flaky look on the problem areas.

Goes on really well. Dries quickly and instantly makes my skin look matte. It's a great base for smooth makeup application. However if find it dries my skin if I don't use moisturiser first before applying it.

Having done some TV work where the makeup artists used anti-shine on us poor artists, I thought I would buy some to use during my daily life. This primer, which the professionals used works a treat and does not cause skin to dry out. I keep this in my work bag and love the stuff.

This primer feels good on the skin and make up clings to the matte surface it provides. It is good for sensitive skin as it has no added perfume. It contains a small amount of salicylic acid, so it's actually doing your skin good at the same time as it is gripping your foundation. It's best to use a very small amount and not to rub it too much, just let it glide on your skin. It's the best primer I have tried so far - and I have tried many.
