It's gorgeous as a dip on its own, with lovely fresh, home-made bread, is superb in rich tomato sauces to accompany pasta or meatballs, is gorgeous in dressings for salads & makes unctuous gravies. The flavour is deep & round without overpowering everything else in your dish. It is not cheap, but neither is it too expensive.
