Keeps the ruffians out of my garden!
Well built and fairly inexpensive. Bought this to keep people from entering my garden. It's definitely put them off and I've not had anyone back since. Build quality is great and it hasn't rusted, even out in the horrible winter weather. I'd highly recommend this for any security conscious person.

Solid lock that does what it should
This padlock feels sturdy and reliable. The build quality gives you confidence it won’t just give in at the first sign of pressure, and the key turns smoothly without any jiggling or fuss. It’s not fancy, but it locks up tight and stays that way. I’ve used it on a shed door and haven’t had a single moment of doubt about the security. No frills, just a dependable lock that you can trust. If you need something straightforward and tough for everyday security, this one delivers.

Good value for a basic low-security lock
This is rated 5/10 on the ERA scale, meaning a mid-range level of security equivalent to 3/6 on the BS EN 12320 Security Grade. It feels well made and is heavy in the hand. The weatherproofing is thick, although has a slight flaw in its design - the rubber around the shackle is flanged (good) in that it meets the body, however the top of the body itself is covered in a very flexible rubber without a hard surface underneath it (see second photo), meaning that it simply pushes away from the shackle rather than forming a tight seal. Its an odd oversight. The clip-in plug for the keyhole is really well designed in contrast, and clips firmly and securely into place. However unless the lock is being used inverted, this merely means that the lock is better waterproofed at the bottom than the top, which will simply trap any water in the lock and prevent it from draining. The lock mechanism is OK, probably acceptable for this price point. The lock is reasonable protection against casual theft/breaking attempts but is not with its 5/10 ERA security rating means that it has no rating or guarantee against either drilling or sawing, so could likely be cut through in seconds with a portable handheld angle grinder. I'd say for the price this is great value for use in low-risk areas such as indoor lockers or cabinets in rooms secured against external entry. I would not rely on it in any more critical environments.

Use master lock for outside in the garden, sheds and gates and bought this one for lockup at work.
Been using master lock for years and have several of these locks for us outside, as they last a long time. Got this one to use on my cage at work, so it’s not disturbed. Fitted but was a little tight, as the opening isn’t as wide on this particular padlock, due to the thermoplastic cover. Works a treat though and good quality and lock works well. Only thing with these ones, is the bottom area which is supposed to cover where the key goes, doesn’t last for long and ends up falling off. This has happened to all the padlocks same as this one, so that’s the only niggle i have. Otherwise will carry on using their locks.

Disappointed for Outdoor Use — Rust Issues After 1.5 Years
I specifically ordered this padlock for outdoor use, thinking it would withstand the elements, and I really wanted to use it outside. Unfortunately, after about a year and a half, I’m already seeing rust forming at the keyhole. It’s still technically usable, but now it’s getting much harder to operate with the key, which is frustrating. The plastic coating on the lock is not fully waterproof — water seems to get in somewhere, which is likely what’s causing the rust. I really hoped it would hold up better, especially for outdoor conditions, but it looks like it won’t last much longer if the rust keeps spreading. If you need a padlock for outdoor use, I’d be cautious — this one isn’t as weatherproof as advertised.

Great lock but brittle plastic
I've been using this on a lock for my garage door. The way the weather falls the padlock is sheltered from the wind and rain and works perfectly fine, not had a single issue with any park of the lock sticking. Nice and heavy telling me it's decent quality except for the plastic - I accidentally dropped it and where the cover locks into the base, that split in two so the cover sort of has somewhere to settle as half of the base is missing.
