The Hot Tubes side is warm and responsive, while the Crayon side is crisp and has enough gain to get into distortion if that's what you're looking for. With the tone shaping of both Bass and Treble applied to both overdrives, there is some compromising necessary, but you can manage some good tonal shaping, from a classic mid boost by rolling both back to biting treble boosts or thunderous bottom end.It works well into solid state, all tube and digital modelling amplifiers, largely because of the flexibility of the EQ and even plays nicely with a Big Muff.The pedal is made to EHX's current high standards and appears to be both robust and durable.
