Good product cost effective
Cicatape is the only kind of scar tape that doesn’t come off during daily use, and imo also the cheapest. Compared to scaraway it is stickier and also has more stickiness duration. It’s also not single use like mepitac. For me neither mepitac or scaraway tape actually keep their stick if you wash them off with dawn dish soap, so it’s the only one that really works for me. Mepitac is about 3 dollars cheaper, but it comes off way too easily during normal use and is technically only meant to be used once so cicatape is more effective for me. If scaraway actually stayed sticky for more than one use I might like it but since it doesn’t no way am I buying 6 small tabs for 19 bucks. With cicatape you get a roll that lasts a month or more, and I have quite a bit of scarring so it’s a lot. I’m healing quite well, and I have no idea if it’s due to the silicone tape or not but it’s scientifically proven to be one of the only things so I’ll do it. I’ve recently bought a cheaper generic silicone tape from Amazon and hate it. Not as sticky not as effective keeps coming off. Cicatape is king

Soooo much more comfy than others
So far, I really like this tape. I had purchased the areoma (I don’t know how to spell it) silicone tape and while it is thick, it didn’t stick as much as I wanted. It would roll and once it rolled, that part of the tape was destroyed. I got this tape four days ago and i put it on right away. I immediately saw and felt the difference. The silicone on this tape isn’t excessive and it sticks soooo much better than the other one. I’ve been wearing it for four days and it is still on and going strong. I took a shower with it and i was surprised at how it didn’t peel off. I had a breast reduction so I didn’t need the tape to be super wide. I cut the strips in half and that worked perfectly. I love that you can tear the tape as you go. It is easy to tear off but it is also durable enough to stay put in one strip without tearing. The pictures I posted are after four days of wearing the tape. The scabs and dark spots surrounding the tape are from other brands of silicone tape I used. Those pulled and irritated my skin. This one is so comfortable and it softens as the days go by. Sometimes I forget that I’m wearing it. My scars are super sensitive without a barrier, so this tape really helps with the sensitivity. This tape is almost unnoticeable. I have a surgical scar on my armpit too and you can hardly see the tape. I use deodorant and it doesn’t affect the tape at all. I think I’ll be able to keep the tape I have on for a few more days. As far as the scar healing process, I can’t say much about it now. I will update if I see any or no change at all. For the price, I’m really surprised by the quality. The other tape I purchased was $30 and I got about 8 strips that didn’t last long. They were useless after a weeks of use... all of them. This tape is 59 inches long and almost 2 inches wide. The way I’m using means that I’m doubling up on the length. I definitely recommend this tape for now.

sticks great, its only been a few days since i ...
sticks great , its only been a few days since i have used it , and still is very sticky . the recent open heart surgery cut seems to look way less pink and seems to be working even though its a few days. i even sleep with it on and no issues like i have read - it is very sticky, but easy to remove . and can be used over and over . after time it just looks dirty , used , and beat up from use, but this is normal wear an tear. another thing i like is i dont have to use tape and guaze to cover the cut, i dont like looking at this scar and this tape is awesome, it does 2 things, it covers the wound/scarand sticks great without any use for other tapes, and it hides the pink/raw cut. u can still see through it a little , but all in all i dont see a raw cut - im happy with this so far - i will update in a few weeks with the outcome - -UPDATE --- its 2 weeks since i wrote the review , the color of the scar is great, it is not that ugly raw pink color anymore . it is healing great, and im sure this has helped a great deal.. the scar looks good, i hate looking at it , but this has made it a little easier, not being so raw looking. i will be using this for a few months to see how well it heals - this is a new incision, not an old one .so i cant speak about old scars. i will update here an there, to help some1 decide to try it or not , but im very pleased so far. not only does it cover the wound , but it can be used over and over , im not spending money on tape and guaze anymore, it sticks great to clean dry skin and is easy to remove . it changed the look and color of this new incision so far. 3 years update. The scar from the surgery is very hard to see I used the tape for a full year and a half limited the length of time it was on and kept it on when I felt like I didn’t want to be reminded of my cut. I’m not sure if it was my doctors great work or this tape. But I’m verrrry pleased and happy with the scar I look at daily. I’m sure this had a lot to do with the healing of the cut. 100% love this tape. I have this in my cabinet still to this day.

Works great (wish it came with a tape dispenser)
I think this works great. It takes a little getting used to because it is a sticky silicon tape, but it has done exactly what my surgeon and the reviews have said - I can absolutely see the scars healing and flattening out. It's hard to explain but even after about a month, it just looks like the scar is healthier and healing more comfortably. I appreciate the perforated squares and I also am using 'tape-scissors' that I got from CVS that have a rounded edge (safer) so cut into the shape I need. I wish there were more perforations within the CicaTape (or that different sizes were offered) only because the way this - and any silicon based scar tape product - works, is you are supposed to use it for 8-9 hrs per day (e.g. overnight) for 6-8 months (obviously everyone's situation is different, do whatever your dr suggests). So to do this every night or every other night, is a little annoying. Definitely doable, just talking about the tape experience - may this be our only annoyance! All to say, I wish the company sold this along with a tape dispenser - that would be SO much easier!! Then everyone could get the size they need. If there was an easier way to separate the tape from the backing, that would be nice, but overall I am having a positive experience and I would recommend this product. Also, a great tip from a nurse - she said (especially in the beginning, after dr clearance that it was okay to use the tape) was to hold the skin in one hand as you gently pull it off with the other. I am a scaredy cat and it really does not hurt at all; it's just a weird sensation and again even after a few days using the CicaTape, the skin just looked healthier. I hope we will all feel better soon. We are so lucky to have this technology. To our health!

Best silicone tape out there
I’ve used this for multiple scars and I’ve used others. This silicone tape vastly outperforms the other tapes I’ve tried. It is more moisturizing and has more of the silicone on it than any other I’ve tried. I can reuse it multiple times and it stays moist. It stays on and without issue. I’ve also kept it on in the shower without any issue.

Maybe I had outlier results or something. This was fantastic.
TW: Scars, surgery, cancer I wrote this for my blog and to share with some members of the trans community, but I also want to share it with anyone else checking into this tape. You can read for more details, but in short, this worked very well and very fast for me. On to the tale! I was recently speaking with a surgeon on someone else's behalf about scar care and they told me unequivocally that for bigger scars, massage and silicone tape (sometimes called scar tape) are the best. He said, explicitly, not to bother with silicone gels, because they aren't well regulated, and worse, there are presently no studies which have scientifically proven their efficacy. The tape, on the other hand, is a demonstrably effective. But for this person, he said don't even bother, it'll be amazing and minimal on its own and the tape won't help too much. Get it if we want to put it over the edge. And now MY story. The next two paragraphs are describing a keloid (raised) scar I have and the steps taken to care for it, just for frame of reference. You can skip them if you prefer. I have a keloid scar which has no know origin - just started growing one day, but I had never been hurt there to my knowledge. It was about the size of half a large olive, and the doctor had two major concerns. First, that it was cancer. Reasonable. Second, and actually a bigger concern for them, was that it's NOT cancer, but a rare condition that is even less treatable. The doctor wanted a biopsy, and because he's a cool doc who sidesteps insurance problems and impractical bs, he "biopsied" the whole thing off, and it came back negative on both - just a keloid scar. About a month later, when he came back to town, (he was the travelling dermatologist for numerous remote cities and towns) I saw him again, because the (expletive deleted for review version) had GROWN BACK. It wasn't as big, maybe a blueberry this time. Instead of removing it, he began a series of injections for several months that caused the tissue to necrotize and left like.. a small cavity, roughly inverse of what was there, and black sickly flesh. Each injection was more than a little painful, but not unbearable and it wore down after about an hour of stinging. We did this for four months, once a month, just to be safe, and then we cut it off. And that (explitive deleted for review version) grew back. To about the same size, same place, and eeever so slowly growing and still occasionally hurting or itching. I'd had it about 9 years when I first had it removed, and this second time around it grew back after about 2 months, got quickly back to its full normal half-olive size, and went back to extremely slow change, but I didn't live near that doc anymore, so no more injections. Okay, so that was two years ago. Then, about 2 weeks back, the scar tape we ordered after talking to the surgeon came in the mail. We figured, well heck, we can get it for either of us and use it for the other. Doubly excused, no regrets. This brand I'm writing about and have used is ********** CicaTape: Soft Silicone Tape 1.57x59 inch ********** and it's a long strip with tear away sections that are roughly square. We read and followed the instructions and left it on at all times, through shower, sleep, whatever. After 8 days my partner thought it might need to be replaced (you can apparently clean and reuse them, actually, but the roll has about 40 patches worth). We waited 2 more days until it was starting to come up at the edges, and I kid you not, this (expletive deleted for review version) is HALF the size it was. From Dry. Silicone. Tape. It has also dropped a little bit of its redness and is now more pink, but my mind is boggled. I expected this to take months to notice difference, and I immediately assumed my partner was experiencing some confirmation bias, but no, it went from lump to nub. I wish I had known I'd want before and after pictures! We swapped that one out for a new patch and I guess we'll just see if it keeps shrinking, or if it comes back when we stop. If I need to use it for swimming season every year, fine by me XD I probably only noticed this patch at random three times in the 10 days. Super unobtrusive and thin. When I bought this in October 2020, it was 16 bucks (USD) for the roll. In short, the tape worked phenomenally. I want to note that I'm white as (expletive deleted for review version) as far back as genetics can see, meaning my skin is a lot less likely than others to experience keloid scarring. This is my only significant raised scar, so it could just be fantastic lucky results, but I can tell you, they sure are results!!

Very thin, fragile, not for reuse, and expensive.
Medical Grade Silicone Tape "Cica tape" Made in USA: Tape is packaged in a small cardboard box: 2 in. high, 2 in. x 1 3'4 wide (my measurements using a steel ruler). Box says tape is 1.57 in x 59 in. It is described as medical grade silicone tape. Tape is "flesh toned" brown in color. PROS: 1. Tape is easy to peal off plastic backing. 2. Tape is a tad over 1.5 in. wide and perforated for easy tear every 2 inches (again my measurement with a steel ruler). 3. I have been able to remove long strips of tape (8 to 10 in.) without the perforations tearing. 4. Assuming you have not applied some oil or lotion to your skin, the tape seems to stick well. 5. It appears waterproof as I took a hot soapy shower and it did not come off. 6. Price is less than half what I have paid for silicone tapes and patches in the past. Price is the primary attraction for me to try this product. CONS: 1. The tape is very thin, about the same as a plastic band aid. 2. The tape is stuck to a plastic substrate that is much thicker and coiled into a roll that gives the impression of having more tape than if rolled around a thinner substrate and one not so wide. 3. When the tape is pealed off the substrate it is so thin, it has a tendency to curl over on sides and ends, Care has to be taken to keep it flat for application. 4. Because it is so thin, care is needed when handling it to avoid stretching it. 5. This is advertised a "medical grade silicone tape". I am not disputing that it has silicone, but that's hard to tell because the tape looks like a plastic bandaid tape. I couldn't see or detect a silicone layer on the adhesive side of the tape. It may be there but it is extremely thin. 6. If you apply and then peel off the tape, because it is so very thing, it is very difficult to stick it on a plastic substrate to save for reuse. It tends to curl up and wrinkle and not lay flat. For those reasons, I consider it one time use tape. 7. As a one time use tape for what is usually a long term therapy, this is an expensive tape of lessor quality than those I have had experience with in past years and in not a bargain in any fashion. ASSESSMENT: I do not recommend this product for the following reasons. Silicone patches and tapes have worked for me in reducing surgical scars and burn scars which I am still treating. have used silicone patches and tapes over the years and all have been much thicker and even the thinnest showed a visible silicone layer. Most were provided as part of physical therapy and quite expensive and not always easy to purchase over the counter. However all had a thicker layer of silicone in some instances a gel that could be visibly seen and felt. All were easy to apply, remove and reuse and all lasted a a long time (many months--I silll have some old pieces from years ago. I am resuming treatment after a long period of time, so I decided to take a chance on an unknown product based on it's cheap price. Is this tape really silicone and will it work for scars and burns? Your guess is as good as mine. The company alleges it is silicone tape and I'm not going to dispute that. I have no idea how thick the silicone layer needs to be in order to be medical effective. Applying silicone tape and patches for scar removal is a long term therapy often lasts many months or even a years. I consider this Cica Medical Grade Silicone Tape good for one time use and having unknown medical effectiveness because it is so thin with handling, application, removal and reuse are all very problematic. In addition I can't detect a layer of silicone on the tape, so I don't really know what I am getting. For all those reasons I don't recommend this tape. My suggestion is to consider asking a physical therapist or nurse what products they recommend for scar removal and burns.

high quality product, but has its cons
PROS: -it worked fast for me. i saw improvements within a week (new scar) and it really felt like it quickened the process of my scar settling and getting to a place where it can begin to fade. i had my surgery only ~2.5 months ago, but i can already press and drag on the scar to drain out the blood and see what it'll look like after it's done fading (if that makes sense). saved me several months of healing time! -i can shower and sleep in them without issue, so they stay on me all the time -easy application and removal CONS: -the perforated lines often tear while the tape is on my skin, which can make them frustrating to remove, clean, and put back on. it also leaves little gaps in between the squares and some of my scar would be exposed and not getting its treatment. -i had to change them every 5-7 days, which isn't that often, but it's quicker than what i hear a lot of people saying. they'd lose their adhesion and would get dirty, and the edges would often fall off and not stay on after 3 or 4 days, though my scar is pretty long. -i'm personally going to take a break from these after ~1.5 months of using them because i feel like i need to work on softening and loosening my scar, which is something this product isn't good for.

Excellent scar tape
I'm 16 days post-op on a breast reduction and my scabs are almost completely gone, combining this with the cicaplast b5 scar treatment has made my healing process a breeze with minimal oozing and itching It easily stays on for a few days and is also easy to peel and re-stick even combined with gauze, steri-strips, butterfly bandages and other external bandaging like compression bandages Great product and I'll probably be using it again if I get a tubal ligation later this year It works really well to protect fresh stitching and healing incisions, scarring seems like it'll be minimal too Usually I'm prone to keloids but everything is healing great so far, nice and flat and even

Great product
Works as needed for reducing redness of my scarring. Able to reuse the strips more than once which makes the price worth it. The adhesive is strong but not irritating for my skin. Easy to pull off without stretching my skin.
