this kit is great accept the strips they send to test your water are for chlorine and not Bromine?

Okay so I bought this after reading the reviews. I was new to owning a spa once I figured out the pH levels weren't reading because it needed to be shocked. Everything's working great. I think the value for the money was perfect for me to start up my Jacuzzi. I like that the chemical content is not as high as chlorine seemed easy and doesn't make a huge mess.

I bought the set due to getting an inflatable hot tub in August for my birthday. It was so easy to use and almost had everything you needed to get started. The kit does run out fast just due to the amount of chemicals it takes to set the hot tub up. However, maintaining it, you don't need as many bottles or chemicals. For example, the ph increaser I don't really have to use too much and have found that the ph decreaser I utilize a lot more. Overall, it's a great kit for the money that comes with everything that you should need to get your hot tub started. I also love that it's chlorine free.

update: company did reach out and offer a refund. appreciate that they stand by their product, but this ordeal ended up being a huge waste of time for me. Missing instructions on establishing a base of alkalinity in the tub. Used this out of the box, and had wild swings of pH and bromine. Low pH one day, low bromine, would use the increaser as directed, and end up with super high ph. test strips gave weird readings. Ended up getting a Taylor test kit (K-1005) which told me my TA was super low - 30ppm. apparently you need to establish a reserve of alkalinity using baking soda to prevent the wild pH swings. I'm doing a partial drain on my tub now, with the hopes of evening things out, but yeah

Good starter kit to get you familiarized with chemicals but you will run through the limited quantities quite fast. Not the most economical option compared with purchasing individually at a local store.
