Good
These are interesting. After soaking they expand & freeze well. I like that you can cut them to size. Once frozen theyre nice & cold but not as cold as proper ice blocks. Ideal for lunch box/bag. I think if I wanted to keep something cold all day I'm not sure how they would fare

takes less space than the usual blocks
Very good, kept things chilled or frozen over two days and 800 miles. Gives better coverage and takes less space than the usual blocks

Maybe not their intended function .....
I ordered these to make a cool sleeping mat for my cat. This was in the hot ,very hot weather. It hasn't been hot enough since then to use it. I fully intend to use those remaining for medical purposes. Excellent service

Ok, as long as they don't thaw out completely
Great for one use or will last longer as long as you don't let them thaw out completely. Once thawed, the gel stuff starts coming out. Although once frozen again they're fine, every time they thaw, the gel gets slime on everything. The covering is also very thin and splits easily which means even more of the gel escaping. Would be better if they came pre soaked and properly sealed, like the ice packs you get for sports injuries. I wouldn't recommend these for cool boxes where they're going to thaw completely but for short use they'd be fine.

These things are super great. They come as completely flat sheets & at first I thought they would be nothing useful. Almost returned them even ! However-I needed something to lay under a potluck dessert so I tested one sheet. They must be soaked in water for not alot of time actually. I didn’t have a handy dish so I just ran water over them in the sink. Well soon enough they puffed up! Next I pop them in the freezer and try to have them lay as flat as possible. Before long they were nicely frozen, Maybe it was overnight. Used the full sheet under my dish at the picnic and it was great. It was a little lumpy but it was Bigger than my dish by a little bit so the thing wasn’t tippy. It did exactly what I needed to do -keep the dish slightly cooler than it would’ve been sitting in the hot sun by itself ! It didn’t last forever but then I wouldn’t have eaten something sitting out forever either 🤣 After that first experience - cut some of the sheets into smaller squares and rectangles and use them for a variety of things. Worked in a soft sided drinks & wine cooler And it was perfect ! No dripping wet mess from melting ice- just enough to keep everything cooler. I’ve used them alot in Various coolers when I don’t have enough ice or when I don’t want the melted water. There is no worry about them freezing flat as they are bendable quite a bit when frozen. They bend enough to curve inside buckets or tuck flat alongside a case of drinks. Well worth the $$$ Have used all summer and so far holding up well even if they fall apart next year it’s still worth it compared to using fewer purchased bags of ice

Giving the Thermafreeze Reusable Ice Pack Sheets 3 stars because: 1) They work fabulously well the FIRST time they are used. We used them to wrap around things in suitcases that had to stay cold for an airplane flight; and also used them when moving cross-country on a two-day trek. They kept things cold without issue. 2) They are NOT reusable. After they thaw, they are slimy, gooey, messy sheets that have to be tossed. If you keep them frozen (and have the space to do so) they can be used time and time again. But once you let them thaw, they will leak the gooey slime that is inside the cells. Washing them and letting them dry in the sun will eliminate this goop, but then the cells will be empty and not re-fill/re-freeze again. So purchase them with the expectation of using them ONCE, or keeping frozen. The benefit is that you can cut them as small or large as you need -- save the rest of the package for the next time. :)

So - my first time ever using a product like this - I give it a solid four stars. Not sure if they last as long as regular ice - but they last just fine for the 12 hours a day that I use them. In fairness our freezers may not get them as solid as most being that my wife keeps the freezers on "economy" settings. Being able to cut them to fit in my various coolers is a big plus. Also I love not having the water to deal with. They arrived just fine, packaged flat. You soak them in water for about 5 minutes or so and then make sure you wipe off any excess water before placing in the freezer. I have had two of the cells bust - one I don't know why - they other was me pressing against it with a fair amount of pressure just to see how solid it was at the end of the day. Really can't hold that against them. Both times I simply cut out the bad cell and tossed the sheet back into the freezer. Overall - a good product and a decent price and would recommend.

I really like these, and they work perfectly for what I got them for. We don't eat out much, so when we travel, we pack a lot of food to go with us. I have a Thirty-One Fresh Market thermal, and these fit like a glove in it! They also fit well in the Making Memories thermal. I love that these came in a pack of 5. I like to lay one flat on the bottom of the tote and have one standing on each long side of the bag. Then, I'll add some items, layered, and put one in the middle and add on on top, zip the tote, and my stuff stays frozen or cold all day. I've had one incident where it looks like one cell soaked up something brown from my cooler, and sometimes when they thaw I get a little bit of the gel stuff on the outside. I will let them dry out a bit in case they are overfilled and see if that helps. I am very pleased with this purchase!

I use these more for ice packs for body aches and pains and right now post surgery ice packs than for a cooler function. These things hold their cold for hours and hours and conform to body contours (shoulder surgery). This brand has an almost cloth-like side which I prefer over the style with two slick surfaces and I think these are probably thicker walled than the originals ones I got from Australia where they were invented. Highly recommend and surprisingly inexpensive considering how many years each sheet lasts. I have had sheets that are over 12 years old and are still functional. Those folks that complain of the gel leaking out over filled the cells. If one follows the instructions and NOT over them they last for years. Fill them and then use your thumb to make a depression in each cell. This allows for the gel to expand but not split the seam of the cells. For coolers I prefer to use the synthetic ice blocks from Nordic Ice or similar company. These block are bigger (16 oz+) and thicker and their cooling properties last longer than the ThermaFreeze sheets.
