Ensure the paper is well glued. Use a thick solution of wallpaper paste and apply to the surface. Then roll across the wall the poly, paper. Should cover OK then apply your finishing cover. But alway best if woodchip is removed.. **Q: Is it strong or will it rip easy?** A: The one I had went on well but once it's wet with paste it does tear easily when you're smoothing it out etc. Although I think there are different thicknesses you can buy.It's also better to cut/trim with scissors instead of a Stanley knife as the blade can sometimes drag instead of cut which then tears the polystyrene.Hope this helps. **Q: Can you paint on to this without covering with lining paper first** A: It is not smooth but has lots of tiny spaces between the polystyrene beads so painting over will leave the gaps unpainted unless you give it many coats to fill them. Best to put lining paper over the top with a suitable adhesive before painting. It comes very well packaged, does exactly what it says on the sales pitch, and is very cheap. I must say it was a testing time applying this to the walls as it is very thin, however, take your time and you will get used to this. Once applied it is a very good, effective, insulating material, you can feel the difference straight away just by touching the walls. Rather than a freezing cold wall (i live in an old thick walled building) the walls are actually warm! I would recommend this to anyone who has condensation damp issues as i am sure it is going to help with that over the winter months. Make sure you use the correct adhesive and you can't go wrong.
