Bought for my 13 year-old son who we do t want to have a smartphone just yet (too distracting/too much to ‘police’) and he loves it. Still has a passable web browser and games as well as a little LED torch in the end. Takes a full size SIM. If all you're after is a simple phone that makes and receives calls/texts, or you're looking for a back-up, emergency phone, then this phone may well be suitable for you. However, if you're after something a little more from a phone (apps for email, social networking etc.,) then you're probably better off getting an Android device for starters. Please note, this is not a 4G phone, it operates on 2G/3G only. Also, this phone has no email facility.DimensionsThe phone is small and should easily fit into a trouser pocket. If you stand the phone upright, it measures approx. 12.5cm high (just under 5"), 5cm wide (just under 2") and it's thickness is around 1cm (around ⅜"). The phone comes with a charging plug, USB lead and, obviously, the phone itself. The phone can be charged from the mains, or via the PC, using the supplied USB cable. Files can be transferred between a PC and the phone and vice versa.Functions on the phone* MusicYou'd be better off installing an SD Card, because the internal memory is only 64MB. Music/podcast files can be stored on the SD card and played via the Music menu and there is the ability to compile basic playlists. Whilst playing music or podcasts, fast forward/fast rewind and going to the next track/previous track is only available.* LED TorchIt acts as a basic LED torch, but don't expect a startlingly bright light. It's good for, (for example), if you have dropped something on the floor in a car and you need some illumination to see where it is.* FM RadioThe FM Radio is good, and doesn't require headphones to be plugged in (to act as an antenna) for the radio to operate. I mention this because some phones that have FM radio, will complain when no headphones (antenna) are connected and the FM radio will then refuse to start.The FM radio has basic RDS features. However, unlike other FM devices, you cannot manually scan through the dial to see what's out there. You need to go to the auto-setup function and let the FM radio assign stations to the memory. However, it is possible to manually add stations one by one, if you know the frequency of each station.The ability to record FM radio is available, but the recorded audio quality isn't particularly great.* Web BrowserThe browser is basically a WAP browser, so web pages look very basic and can be quite fiddly to navigate. Bookmarks are available and the ability to clear cookies, web history etc., is available.* AppsAccording to the manual, what Apps you get, may be dependent on the network operator. The only Apps that were available on my device were games, wallpapers and ringtones, most of which cost money to download. Any downloaded items would show up in the Apps Manager.* InternetWhen you try to set up it up for the first time, you should get some text messages from your network operator, who will automatically set up the connection. The details of these connection settings would then be found in the 'Connectivity' -> 'Data Accounts' menu of the settings page. Otherwise, you will have to set up the 'Data account' manually.* GamesThree games were available, but with limited tries. After the set number of tries has expired, purchasing is then required to get the full game.* ServicesWhether or not anything comes up in this menu is dependent on the network operator.* ProfilesGeneral, Vibrate, Silent, Flight Mode are available and each one of these can be customised.* SettingsHere you can investigate various settings of the phone.* Other basic self explanatory stuff, that works as it should.Messages, Contacts, Call log, Images, My Files (basic file manager), Calculator (very basic), Calendar (you can add events reminders), Notes, Bluetooth, Camera is basic and it works, but don't expect outstanding picture quality. Converter is basic, and you need to manually enter the conversion rate to perform functions.* Untested, because I haven't needed to use these features on the phone.Videos, Alarm, Voice Alarm, Call Filter, Recorder.So, to sum up, a decent basic phone, that's does calls/texts etc, and a few other things. Good, if you want an emergency device, or a very basic backup to a smartphone.
