## Description

Boston One Step Liquid Enzymatic Cleaner is a simple and convenient way to remove protein deposits from your rigid gas permeable contact lenses. Designed to be used directly in your lens case while disinfecting, this cleaner eliminates the need for enzymatic tablets and separate vials. The clear, odorless formula is preservative free and helps maintain contact lens wearing comfort. Item contains a 15-week supply and is for use with all Boston Conditioning Solutions: Boston Original Conditioning Solution or Boston ADVANCE Conditioning Solution. To use, after daily cleaning with Boston Original Cleaner or Boston ADVANCE Cleaner and rinsing, place lenses in lens case and fill to top with any fresh Boston Original Conditioning Solution or Boston ADVANCE Conditioning Solution. Detach one single-dose unit and squeeze container to release 2 drops of Boston One Step Liquid Enzymatic Cleaner into each lens well. Soak lenses for 4+ hours or overnight to ensure proper cleaning and disinfecting. After removing lenses from lens case, rub and rinse lenses for approximately 5 seconds with any Boston Conditioning Solution to ensure that the enzymatic cleaner is thoroughly rinsed off the lenses. Apply fresh Conditioning Solution to wet the lenses for additional conditioning, if desired, and insert. For full instructions, see information printed inside the product carton. For fluoro silicone acrylate and silicone acrylate rigid gas permeable contact lenses. Not for use with soft (hydrophilic) contact lenses.

Review: Easy use and cleaning and conditioning
Review: Do you wear extended-wear contact lenses? I do monthlies because of travel and in case I forget to take my lenses out, and monthlies worn for long days or for multiple days straight can get very stubborn to remove protein and lipid deposits. Enzyme cleaner to the rescue! I use an ultrasonic lens cleaner daily, and it's OK, but I still need to use hydrogen peroxide cleaners semi-regularly, but even all of that does not remove all of the deposits, so by the time week 2 of lens use comes around, even if I avoid sleeping with the lenses in, the lenses cloud up and I can't see distance for crap -- my uncorreced distance vision is stil better than 20/20 - this is mostly for reading due to eyestrain and I prefer contacts for the wider field of focus. I've scrubbed the lenses like my opthamologist recommends, and the ultrasonic cleaner was a yuge improvement but still not great. Even combining scrubbing, the peroxide cleaner, followed by opti-free in the ultrasonic cleaner, doesn't remove all the deposits. I knew an enzyme cleaner would take care of this but I've looked for enzyme cleaners for months and could not find any at Sprawk*Mart, CVS, Walgreens, grocery stores, costco, Sam's club, etc. all to no avail. I electrophoresis could also break down the proteins, but electrophoresis contact lens cleaners are BRAND-new on the market and don't have a long track record -- I knew what eletrophoresis is I didn't even know until last week it was possible to use for cleaning contact lenses, let alone that such cleaners are on the market now. But when I was looking for a different ultrsonic cleaners or other contact cleaner methods (and being gun-shy about the expensive electrophoresis cleaner due to lack of in-deoth reviews) I spotted this Boston enzyme cleaner The Boston enzyme cleaner arrived yesterday - and I was cautiously optomistic. I took my contacts out earlier in the evening than usual, did a pre-scrub, dropped them in the ultrasonic cleaner, added opti-free, and since it uses about 4x as much cleaner as individual contacts cases, I put in 8 drops of enzyme additive, and let it sit. This morning, I dumped out the cleaner, refilled with opti-free and dipped the lens basket back in the cleaner for a final rinse, skipped the usual post-soak manual scrub, and looked at the lenses. They looked brand-new! (this is day 23 for these lenses, and they've been worn overnight twice this month and even accidentally showered once). I put them in- they felt brand-new. Visual acuity: crystal clear reading, no light haze, and my distance vision is only mildly degraded from the lens (my distance vision is still very good and even after trying about 8 different presciptions, we couldn't find any that don't degrade my distance vision at least a little bit). Even with the peroxide cleaner followed by a manual scrub, then a few minutes in a bath of opti-free in the ultrasonic cleaner then a final manual scrub and rinse, the lenses usually freel gritty at the end of week three, and have a light haze when I am in a dim room and a light is hitting my eyes, and difficulty focusing distance. There is None of that with this enzyme additive; they're just like brand-new, day 1 lenses. I'll get the electrophoroesis cleaner later as I expect that would be even better (possibly even allow using a single pair of lenses for multiple months!) but this enzyme cleaner is a real game changer. The extended wear lenses have gotten so annoying I've been debating switching to weeklies or even dailies to avoid the gritty feeling and clouded vision, or simply wearing them ONLY for computer work This enzyme cleaner ended that frustration.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can the protein remover be used on Acuvue Oasys contacts?**
A: This cleaner is made for Rigid Gas Permeable (hard) lenses. I’ve used it for years, it works to remove the protein that builds up during the week causing the lenses to be uncomfortable. I would guess they would work on any brand of lens as long as they are RGB, but you should check with your eye doctor.

**Q: What is the expiration date?**
A: The box I just purchased 2/27/23 has an exp date of 3/31/24.

**Q: Can i using this for hard lens. Is it useful?**
A: It's specifically made for extra cleaning if gas permeable hard contacts. I've used it for years 1X a week to super clean my contacts.

**Q: I only use one contact lense. can i use 2 drops on the one lense and one week later use 2 drops from the same container i used a week earlier?**
A: I am no optometrist or chemist but here are my thoughts: The vial container is not re-closeable, but if you could find a way to seal it maybe so. You use the drops in a mixture with the disinfecting solution, so I don't think the fact that the vial has been opened would be a problem from a sanitary point of view. Just trying to find a way to re-seal the vial for a week so that the enzyme does not deteriorate would be the issue.
