We have it positioned in Church to be rung at the start of Mass. **Q: Which part of the bell is 7 inches? the diameter? height? top of bell to bottom of rope? how far it sticks out from the wall?** A: The base of the bell is 7 inches. It sticks out about 9 inches from the wall & the rope hangs roughly 6 inches from base of bell. Very deacorative and quite loud. We use ours daily & have done for 4 years so its quite robust. You get what you pay for. **Q: What is the diameter of the bell end?** A: sorry the bell has been mounted and presented months ago. **Q: Could a long rope on a pulley be attached instead of the existing rope?** A: Hi. Yes you could replace the short hand pull rope with any length you wish. On mine the bottom of the clanger has a hole in it. Fitted to the wall on the side of our front door (a stone house in France). Looks just the job. Very robust bell and when the bright colour dulls a little it will be perfect. Makes a quite a noise (though unfortunately with our thick walls and double glazing we can only just hear it inside). All fixings supplied and easy to put up. Very pleased.
