UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW: I am updating this review that I had initially submitted. Approximately 8 months after I bought these (Sep. 2023), the right earbud stopped working all the sudden. I could jiggle and hold the volume control and the sound would come back, but that was not an option. Therefore, I contacted Avantree Support and let them know what happened. They responded by email within 24 hours (other responses for the Support Incident were even quicker than that), and indicated they would send me a new set at no charge as they were still under warranty and provided clear instructions on how to order the new ones. The new ones arrived yesterday, 05/28/24 and they work like a charm. I am still very satisfied with the earbuds, and the professional customer service provided by Avantree. I still feel these are a very good value for the price, given the way they handled replacing the original defective set. ORIGINAL: I have had these Avantree E171 - Sports Earbuds Wired with Microphone for about 3 weeks now and I mainly use these on the treadmill when I run. I have found these to be more than adequate for that purpose. I previously bought Koss $6 headphones for the same purpose but I found those didn't last long enough before one of the earpieces would just go dead. With the Avantree, I can see that for the price, they are a little better made and the wiring is a little stronger. They don't seem flimsy at all, and the earbuds themselves and the portion that fits on your ears seem to be sturdy. They fit on my ears nicely enough with the loops and they do not bother me with or without glasses. They come with the middle size eartips attached, but I did find that when I run on the treadmill, they seemed to jump around a little, so I put on the larger ones. (The earbuds come with 3 sizes of eartips). The eartips are a little hard to get off and get the new ones on but you just need to grab the main part of the earbud and grab the base of the eartip and twist and pull a little to take it off, then work the new one on to the stem by working the opening of the eartip on the stem and pushing down and twisting a little. I have dexterity issues with my hands and I still got them on and off in about a minute. As far as the sound, these are not bass heavy at all, but that is fine (especially for the price) as the music I listen to doesn't have much bass (such as with rap and some rock), but I found there is enough bass where needed, and they provide a nice rich, melodic sound without being "tinny" at all. In addition, although they do not have built-in noise cancelling functionality, I find that with the larger eartips when I am on the treadmill in our community fitness room, I do not hear the lady that babbles on loudly and continuously :). Thank You Avantree! I have not tried these with a cell phone, so I can't speak to using with that. But, I have tried these on an iPod shuffle, an iPod touch and an iPad. The product listing here under "Before You Buy, Please Note That..." notes: "The built-in volume control does not work on PC, laptop, or iOS MP3 players, and the volume up button does not work on the Pixel 3A and Galaxy A9, S10, and Note 9 (it'll activate Google Assistant instead)." I will verify the in-cord volume control and the pause button does not work on the iPod shuffle, but I found they DO work on the iPod Touch and my iPad. Seems to be a bit of a bonus. Overall, I think they are worth the price and provide a set of nice sounding wired earbuds.

These are fantastic! I don't usually write reviews, but I was so pleased with these i ordered a backup pair. I use them with a Comtek coaching system which I think has a universal connection. The earpieces are very comfortable and stays secure when I'm riding my horse so I think they'd be good for athletic endeavors in general. They don't pinch or squeeze or get loose, they just seem well designed. Good sound quality also.

These are nice usbc around/over ear earbuds. I purchased them about a year ago and they have been great. They sound good and have good bass, treble, and highs. This is coming from someone with lots of sound equipment. I wanted a cheap pair for cutting the grass and going on walks, as other earbuds always fall out of my ears, so I need the ones with the hooks over the ear. These fit me perfectly Had an issue after about a year and the right bud stopped working. I reached out to Avantree and the representative, Riza, was super nice and easy to work with. They sent out a new one right away and then had me ship them the one that stopped working. New pair works perfectly and I still have a warranty. I appreciate the good customer service and hope the new pair last a while. I used them a lot and plan to use these a lot too.

What else can I really say? Affordable, but not cheaply made. I can be super picky about these kinds of earbuds and how easily these types can hurt my ears but they function and fit me perfectly. I can easily adjust and bend the pieces slightly if needed, and while they don't really offer any noise cancellation, they're still super amazing for this price point.

I used these almost everyday to talk to my fiancé while I take a walk on my lunch break. They sound pretty good and the mic picks up well. They’re comfortable to wear for hours and stay in place with minimal adjustments. The control buttons are convenient for quick volume adjusting.

We purchased these to reduce the EMF around our heads. Chose this manufacturer because the reviews were so good. The best was about their Customer Service. A cust. described how after numerous months of enjoyment they stopped working, Cust. Serv. provided a replacement, no questions asked. We bought two, one white, one black, the cord is on the long side, sometimes good and sometimes not so good. The second day of use, I was using them in our Grove while trimming branches and opps, I cut the cord while cutting a branch, bummer. I tried to fix them, no luck. I emailed Avantree Cust Service, described what happened and a replacement is on its way. They work great, they are comfortable in/on my ears, my wife loves hers. I recommend them for their quality and excellent customer service.

These have good quality sound and are EXTREMELY comfortable. In fact, I forget I’m wearing them sometimes when I’m in bed, BUT they are extremely fragile and break easily. This will be the 3rd pair that I will be buying in the last 8-9 months. The wire where it comes out of the part you plug in, keeps disconnecting/breaking so I only have sound in 1 ear. Unless I jiggle it or hold it in a certain position. I wish they would reinforce that part so it wouldn’t break as often.

The sound on these is excellent for my music. I can actually turn up the sound without big brother Apple sending me a volume warning! Even at a comfortable sound level, I have my iPhone music turned down to about 60%, where my previous earbuds were 90-100%. Of course, the biggest disadvantage is the inconvenience of the cord. It does have a nice length though, which helps with that. It comes with medium size ear pieces attached and also large and small ones if you need to change them out. There is a clip to secure the wire to your clothes to keep it in a position that works for you. It is made in communist China.

For the money, I'm very impressed with the quality, fit and comfort of these earphones. I was fed of using the typical in-ear buds that would fall out the moment you even thought about them. These sports headphones hold in place during activities (I'm a hiker, not a runner) and the sound quality is very good. You don't need to push them deep in to your ear to keep them in position. The in-line volume and play/pause controls are compatible with both my iPod and my Android phone. There is an optional clip that can be used to secure any part of the wiring to your clothing and a selection of earbuds are included in the set, so that you can find the correct fitting for your ear holes. My only slight gripe (and it's not specific to this brand) is that when you don't wish to wear them but want them to remain plugged in then, hanging from your neck, they are more weighty than earbuds without clips. So far, so good!

Good quality item. Very reasonably priced. Easy to use and comfortable. Definitely recommend! You will not find something similar in this price range! Though, I would prefer a red colour, black is also stylish! Good item!

I enjoy listening to audiobooks and don't like/wear buds. Considering the reasonable price, this quality-made, wrap-around style fits perfectly around the ear, the sound is great and phone calls are clear. Now, if only I could find affordable noise-cancelling ones that are this comfortable so that I don't have to listen to passengers who haven't discovered these earphones.
