Live action version of the popular children's story. Pinocchio (voice of Jonathan Taylor Thomas), a wood carving made by Gepetto (Martin Landau), magically comes to life. He runs away and encounters a crafty fox and cat, who work for the evil Lorenzini (Udo Kier). Lorenzini tries to buy Pinocchio from Gepetto, but is unsuccessful. However, when Pinocchio is thrown out of school for lying, he steals some cream from the baker's, and Gepetto has to pay a massive fine. The only way he can afford it is if he accepts Lorenzini's offer. Review: Best Pinocchio Movie! - For me this was the most emotionally hard-hitting version of Pinocchio. As soon as it came through the door the older kids (20-30)now parents were putting it on and watching it. The younger ones (2-6) soon joined in. All had a great time even the grandparents. For me this was the most emotionally hard-hitting version of Pinocchio. Amazing performances, fantastic storytelling, brilliant musical score!

Replaced a VHS copy of this film. As soon as it came through the door the older kids (20-30)now parents were putting it on and watching it. The younger ones (2-6) soon joined in. All had a great time even the grandparents. A good retelling of a classic story almost as good as Disney's version.

The best father-son movie next to just like dad
The best remake of Pinocchio's movies. The only sad part was when Laudau's character had to let go of Jonathan, and then he searched for his son after the theater burnt down. And the reunion on the beach was heartwarming.

Bellissimo film, non è in alta definizione, pazienza, ho riconosciuto tanti grandi attori quali : Martin Landau (Spazio 1999- Cleopatra), Ugo Kier (Melancholia- Blade), Bebe Neuwirt ( Jumanji 1995+ Jumanji The next level), Genevieve Bujold),Dawn French (HARRY POTTER e il prigioniero di Azkaban) da non perdere...

Ci sono diverse ragioni per vedersi questo film Pinocchio viene reinterpretato ma in modo molto interessante. La trama si svolge a Firenze e lo capisci solo da alcuni nomi Italiani che ricorrono spesso, che non hanno magari un ruolo nella storia se non creare una certa atmosfera e ci riescono davvero tanto! La trama si svolge a Firenze o comunque in Italia ma la location dovrebbe essere in Germania. Le musiche e le canzoni del film sono forse la perla più bella del film: musiche di Rachel Portman e canzoni cantate da Stevie Wonder, Sissel Kyrkjebo e un fantastico Brian May. Può non dire nulla il nome Marin Landau ma è un grandissimo attore... insomma VEDETEVELO!!
