Great product that made a big job so much easier!
We bought this because we are building partial walls out of cut bottles. And boy-oh-boy did we need to find an easier way! This little unit works exactly as advertised. Keep in mind that it WILL NOT cut the bottle all the way thruโฆ itโs not supposed to and that expectation is totally unrealistic. It simply scores the glass. We have cut everything from wine bottles to beer bottles to Jarrito bottles and everything in between. If the glass is smooth and not ribbed, itโs going to work. While itโs easy to useโฆ you have to follow the instructions and be patient with the process. Any failures is not the fault of the unit itself, itโs simply the luck of the draw. Not every bottle is going to cut perfectly. There are a lot of variablesโฆ. Including the thickness of the bottle. We had been cutting bottle after bottle all day with a lot of success and then tried a Bud Platinum bottle (for that beautiful blue glass) and it shattered almost immediately. It was MUCH thinner than the others and our usual amount of pressure was too much. So we adjusted our technique for different types and have now had great success with the Bud, as well. TECHNIQUE FOR SUCCESS: We found that getting the label and all of the adhesive off first is crucial. You donโt want to dull the blade or have the blade press the adhesive into the exact spot you expect to cut cleanly. Soak the bottles in soapy water, the labels will slide right off. Then we sprayed a Dawn/rubbing alcohol/water spray and used a wire brush or other scrubber, steel wool, etc to get that adhesive. SOAKING in soapy water was way more effective (and cheaper) than Goo-b-gone and all that other stuff. Now youโre ready to use the cutter. Be firm but not crazy. Donโt monkey the heck out of it. Pay attention to where you start the scoring line so you can join it perfectly. DO NOT go around and aroundโฆ one time only. It wonโt look like much but it is enough. Once scored, we would spin the bottle in a pot of VERY HOT BUT NOT BOILING water, heat it up, pull it out, set the bottle sideways in a frying pan with the neck raised on the edge of the pan and slowly spin it while holding an ice cube on the score mark. Repeat as needed: Heat, ice, heat, ice. Sometimes it releases immediately and sometimes it takes a few rotations. But it works. We have been able to cut over 100 bottles so far and have not even changed the blade yet. Well worth the money! The design is simple and effective. Itโs tedious work but this unit helps SO MUCH! Thank you!

Very simple device
Works great! I have been doing my cutting freehand for about a year, so I am reviewing from the lens of someone who couldnโt get a clean cut semi-consistently (I only successfully cut two bottles out of a dozen broken ones). The o-rings fit very well on standard bottles, and put enough pressure on the scoring area that I only need a single ring for cuts close to the neck. The gloves were tiny but I was still able to use them since I didnโt have any on hand. I havenโt tried it on smaller bottles but I assume I would need to use the hand tool still. I didnโt read the instructions as I have cut glass before, and I was able to get a clean cut within two tries! The included sandpaper was a little finer than I am used to, but I was already planning on using my own silicone sandpaper. Highly recommend!

Amazing for round bottles only
Great for round bottles only. Works amazing on round bottles. This does not cut mason jar shape very well at all wish it stated that a little clearer. Thereโs some diamond drill tip in there but no idea how to use it. Thereโs no instructions on it.

Glass grinder
We checked around and just starting to get into stained glass we chose this grinder. Also this was the model we used this model in class. Very easy to set up and with the 2 different size bits to used it was a good value and does a great job.

It works but with some odd flaws
It works adequately, but I have some issues. The cutter is in a spot that short or tall glasses are difficult/impossible. Two of the set screws wonโt seat all the way, though I havenโt tried pliers to really crank them down. Also, the ruler seems to be backwards, which is kind of bizarre. It should have 0 at the cutter, but instead is off the gauge at approximately 7 3/8โ. For $20 itโs fine, but there are some really easy fixes that could make it much better.
