NITE IZE Figure 9 Carabiner Rope Tightener, Black, Small

I bought this wee thing to act as a cord tensioner of my shade sail. Does the job really well (so far) Easy to use, instructions are pretty clear. At the moment it's holding the entire tension of the sail with just two winds of the cord. I think the body is made from a high quality plastic/nylon, with a stainless steel carabiner gate, but it does the job. Going to buy at least one more, maybe two, as there are lots of things I could use it for. It does say Max Load is 50lb, so under extreme gale force winds, I'd probably take the sale down. I wouldn't be using it anyway.

Use niteize figure 9s on a variety of tarps both for ridge and guy lines. In 70mph winds when the rain is horizontal, retensioning lines quickly is pleasant! The small carabinered figure 9s work well with 2.5mm dyneema (Amsteel and Hensteel) which is notoriously knot adverse and paracord. I attach to an Amsteel ridgeline using narrower diameter zingit loops so the niteize can be repositioned easily.

Very strong and easy to use

Used to tie my hammock tarpauline, and works very well. Instructions were clear on the wrapper and printed on the carabiner as well. Bit fiddly and does not work at all if you err from the precise method of use. Not as light as I expected

Buy these - 100's of camping uses and as a washing line for hotel rooms. Very light and so easy to use, just get any bit of para cord and cut to length put one of these on one end and job done

Very strong and well built carabina. It's also possibly a bit large for my needs but thats not related to my satisfaction. I will use this and have already tested for using it on my tarp line. Its light and the use is marked on the carabina in white to show clearly how to wrap cord onto it. Would recommend.
