Restore free movement to your office chair - AND protect your floorcovering!
The mat was delivered well packed in a cardboard sleeve, and most importantly, had been kept flat by the courier, so it arrived in perfect condition, with no cracks, creases, folds, bends, or other damage. I have been using my Herman Miller Aeron chair, which has good castors, on a carpet tiled floor, but these did, surprisingly, restrict the free rolling of the chair. Now, with the mat in place, I can slide in and out from the desk with minimal effort! The mat is transparent, and has a slightly textured upper surface, while the underside is studded with small conical teeth, to grip the carpet. In use, the mat doesn't move or slide on the carpet tiles, and the slightly textured surface means that my shoes do not slip on the mat, whilst the chair's castors roll over easily, with no hinderance at all. The mat doesn't seem to generate static, or attract dust, and is easy to clean when hoovering the carpet. It also provides total protection to the carpet underneath, preventing localised wear from feet and chair castors. Although the mat has a minimal thickness, it is not sufficient to catch the soles of my shoes or slippers, (so it doesn't present a trip hazard), and still allows the chair to roll off the mat easily, if needed. It has been in use constantly for a few weeks, now, and shows no signs of wear or damage at all (polycarbonate is extremely tough, and is used in many industrial applications, such as machine guards, and is both durable and strong). This is not a cheap purchase, but is worth every penny - I wouldn't want to be without mine, now!

Excellent
I only write reviews where I think there is something important to say and to provide the sort of information and advice that I would wish to see as a prospective buyer. This product does exactly what I wanted, which was the protection of a carpet that was being damaged by an office chair on castors. I am reviewing here the Heavy Duty Premium Polycarbonate version suitable for low, standard and medium pile carpets. Do not be misled by the reviews talking about dents or cracking, which I can only assume relate to a lower spec or faulty product. My previous protection lasted for a few years before starting to crack and break up but within days had shown denting from the castors. It was thicker than the product I am reviewing here but had channels in it that seemed to allow the formation of dents. I have been using this product for over a week, sitting in the chair for long periods and there are no signs at all of any denting, thus allowing the chair to move freely. The protector has small spikes underneath that keep it absolutely securely in place with no signs of any movement. So far, it appears to be an absolutely first class product. My advice would be to buy with confidence!

Heavy duty carpet protector
Not cheap but seems to be high quality. Really helps to protect the carpet. It grips well so won't move around. I bought mine to replace another mat that had cracked and started to fall apart after about 15 years of regular use. This one looks almost identical so hopefully it should last a similar length of time.

Excellent product
This is the second chair mat I bought for my new home office. The first one was a rolled pvc item, and completely unsuited to carpet despite the presence of spikes. There was far too much give in it, the chair just didn't roll. This one is a whole new kettle of fish. It comes flat and is a bit wobbly when held but once on the floor it has the rigidity a mat like this needs. You don't get dents in it, even when you've been sitting still for a while, the chair will still move easily when you want it. If you are reading this wondering about pvc or polycarbonate, it's the latter, all the way. Pay a bit extra, it's worth it. I've been using it a month now, it hasn't moved at all on the low/medium carpet below it. The top is slightly frosted, this gives it a nice look and probably helps the wheels of the chair to move without slipping. On the subject of cost, after my first debacle I looked into these products quite deeply, and my research suggested that Floortex products really were the way to go on this. That said, buying from a supplier advertising Floortex products would have cost upwards of £60 which I struggled to justify. I settled for this one, being the same polycarbonate construction, not realising that I was about to be supplied with an actual Floortex mat - see label. So I've got just what I wanted, but at a saving of over £20 from this supplier. Since they don't mention Floortex in the listing, in wondering if they reserve the right to supply more than one different product, but if you get what I got, you'll be delighted with it.

Best Floormat on Amazon
I used to buy my carpet protector mats from Costco. They were in the region of £45 each, and generally lasted a year before showing any fatigue, but then rapidly deteriorated. I switched to using mats from Amazon, but was disappointed time and time again. The first mat I ordered stated it was fine on all surfaces, but started cracking within a couple of weeks. The second mat I ordered was flat out dangerous and was constructed of absolutely rigid, brittle plastic. It shattered as soon as weight was put on it. Again, it was advertised as being safe for use on carpet. The third mat I ordered was basically very soft vinyl, offering no real protection to the carpet. This mat, on the other hand, is exceptional. Its flexible enough to not crack as you move around, but firm enough to keep the chair perfectly mobile. Its not slippery, and crucially it *will not move* - even the Costco mats, the best to date, used to move around as you moved the chair. They would invariably end up shuffling into the edge of the desk or some other furniture and start to bend. This mat hasn't moved since I've placed it. As long as this one lasts at least a year, I'll be happy.

Hasn't lasted
Hasn't even lasted a year... Cracks and fractures present which also leaves sharp edges you may catch your feet on!! Quite expensive for what it is & now a potential safety issue - wouldn't order again and wouldn't recommend

Bin sehr zufrieden, klare Kaufempfehlung.
