Wireless version will allow you to use it with many devices and cases will not interfere. I only have used it in UK. You need to rescan channels each time you move location, and which channels you get depends on normal TV signal strength. **Q: Can I charge iPad as well as watch eye tv** A: Not as far as I can tell. The EyeTv plugs into the Lightning connection so this uses up the only charging connector. It may be possible to sit your ipad on one of those inductive charging pads and top up the battery using induction, but I have no experience of these at all. Just a thought, may be worth persuing. **Q: Can this item be used with iPad Air** A: Yes. Works great with any iPad or iphone with a lightning type connector. **Q: can i watch channels with subtitles?** A: I believe so but bear in mind that this device does not function at all on ios11. I have a chain of emails with tech support and there is no definitive when this will be fixed. If you want Freeview on your iPad 4 (with Lightning connector) this is the way to get it.Picture quality is excellent, and when the aerial is pointing in the right direction, the picture is fluid without any breakup.I live in an area that gets all Freeview channels, and that is what I got.The autotune was flawless, and the Electronic Programme Guide is superb - better than any other I have seen.You can easily flip up and down the list of channels, or the EPG, as easily as any other app on the iPad.The device itself is nicely made and very small, but even with the provided aerials, the picture quality is all you need.No extra fees to pay for Freeview - and perfect TV recording too.It offers an intuitive interface. Perfect in my view.One tip - it does tell you to fully charge it using the supplied USB cable before connecting it to the iPad for the first time, which I did.If you want Freeview on your iPad 4, iPad Air, iPhone 5 + or iPad Mini...this is a recommended way to get it.You can probably tell I like it. Worked brilliantly, connected to the van TV aerial, in fact superb. So what went wrong? Ios 11, did my update to get all the new Ipad security features, tried the EyeTV, the Ipad wouldn't recognise the device. Contacted the supplier who advised its not their issue but the manufacturer so logged a ticket with them some weeks ago, the response has been that they are working on it, I regularly ask for an update to be told that they are still working on it and cant even give me a schedule for the fix. So my advice, do not buy because it will not work on Ios 11 devices and further, my view is that the manufacturer doesn't care! ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Does not work with iOS 11.
