The index finger opening action is very easy yet hard to trigger unintentionally. My only complains of this knife are the studs on the blade for flipping the blade open that way are a bit too large. The size of them makes for easy blade opening, but if you use the clip to keep the blade in your pocket, it tends to catch a bit on them while pulling the knife out. The blade lock works, but is plastic so you have to make sure you don't accidentally toggle the lock on prior to closing the blade...or no more blade lock :). I have heard they do replace it for free though if you are worried about it. With its small size and flatness, it is perfect as an every day carry (EDC) knife. The blade deploys almost like an automatic. The blade is razor sharp and holds an edge very well. The only potential issue that I should mention is that the blade can sometimes deploy unintentionally if the speed safe tab is accidentally bumped or pressed. You probably won't know it until you cut yourself while reaching into your pocket for something. I've had this happen a few times.
