Joseph Joseph Dash™ Pestle & Mortar Granite Set with Bamboo Lid, Heavy Duty - Grey

This is heavy which means it stays in place when she is grinding and I dont have to hold the dang thing. Seems to be of good quality, and has a more white than dark gray granite. She says it's a beautiful piece and she loves the addition of the bamboo lid to keep the dust out and create a storage space for the pestel.

For the price it's a great item, heavy not going to run around when using it the texture is coarse gives a good grind very easy use and really just a perfect item.

This is a great item to have on my kitchen island. It's practical, but looks like a hand-crafted piece of art.

This is a great product. I use mine to smash up my tortoise pellets that are about an inch long and 1/2 inch thick. Too large for my hatchlings. These pellets are pretty hard and this makes the job so much easier. Plus the larger size lets me to a whole week's worth and simply use the lid to keep fresh. - Highly recommended.

This mortar and pestle looks absolutely fantastic on the kitchen counter, there's nothing like it in the world (and that's why I purchased it). Every other type of mortar/pestle set looks very similar... ...and maybe that's for a reason. While using this mortar and pestle, hard spices have a tendency to jump right out of the mortar and onto your counter or floor. This is super-annoying, especially when you're grinding spices that are expensive. To counter this, you can use your hand as a shield around the edge of the bowl. Not a huge inconvenience, but still irritating enough to remove one star.

Compact but bigger inside than expected. Instructions for seasoning the mortar are easy to follow. The bamboo lid is a nice touch since it keeps the mortar organized and easy to put away.

I've used this to crush peanuts for my daughter's "lollipops" - which is a spoon dipped in peanut butter, then rolled in crushed peanuts. It works consistently with the way humanity's used rocks since roughly the dawn of our species. So, it's a perfectly functional pair of rock surfaces to smash food between.

Very nice quality. The lid having a place to store the pestle is great!

杵月餅が食べたいと言われてもちつき機を買うほどでもないので、これでやってみたらどう?って言って試してみたら普通に出来た。たまに家族が一人餅つきやってる笑

Exceptionally amazing

I bought this as a present for my son. It came really well packaged in a box with a separate box and compartment for the pestle. The bowl and pestle look very well made and the wooden lid come chopping board are very good quality. This is the sort of pestle and mortar you have out on display as it's too attractive to hide in a cupboard. It is well worth the higher price than other pestle and mortars. My son is really delighted with it and said it is very nice to use.
