Review: Surprisingly good book worth the risk - Not heard of these books before and wasn't sure what they were like so it felt a bit risky buying them. Not to my teaching style but the children are getting along with this book very well. Nicely laid out, easy to follow. Wish there were more recognizable practice tunes (nursery rhymes) as they are a big hit because they are familiar. Review: Not a music specialist but seems good to me... - Bought with a digital piano to get my nearly 8 yo interested in learning Piano...and it has proved very successful so far. I knew nothing -not musical at all - and I've found it handy - I've learned a lot! I also got the other (not kids) version of this book for my 13 yo but both have been looking at this one. I found a lot of the introduction is very similar and they seem to have mostly the same songs. The piano and books arrived from Santa yesterday - and the 8 yo can now play Jingle bells (which is in the book) - just the right hand parts but with the correct fingers, amazing considering she (and I) were both complete novices yesterday...

Lovely book shame about packaging
Lovely book, for first Piano. Please be aware if its a gift as it came rolling up like a smartie tub and had lines it in because of this even after many attempts to straighten it which made it look second hand to the person i gifted it which wasnt great!

A busy first book (donโt be put off by American terminology)
More suitable for older children (ages 9+) who are able to apply theory to practice, as it packs a lot in. It uses American terms, but you can easily put a sticker over these dozen instances. For younger children, a theory sticker book would be helpful to set the knowledge.
