360° Ball Head Hot Shoe Adapter Mount + Cell Phone Holder Clip for DSLR Camera

My DSLR takes both video & photos, but not simultaneously. My phone will take both simultaneously BUT the photo quality is not good. So often I would be shooting one of our kids sporting events & I had to choose between video & poor quality photos, or no video & great quality photos. Often I opted for video & poor quality photos, especially at events that my spouse couldn't make it to, so he could see all the action on video. I figured something like this must exist & it does!! YES! I have the iPhone 6 Plus so it's big. I had to take it out of its case in order to use the holder but it fit! I was just extra careful with it. VERY happy, only wish I looked for one several sports seasons ago when I had the thought. Now I can start video recording on my phone & great quality photos with my DSLR. Highly recommend!

I decided to get this to fit into my Ring Light.. however, I had to saw down my ring light to make it fit because the mount was too big. Very sturdy, worth the money if it’s compatible with whatever you’ll be mounting it to.

Light weight ball head, but fine for cell phone

This is a simple and cheap device, there isn't much to it. Which is fine, I didn't expect miracles. I've tested it out a few times and it seemed fine, but the first time I took it out for REAL usage, it failed. First, the pin for the tightening handle fell out. Fortunately, I managed to see it in progress can catch it and kinda shove the thing back together for the rest of the day. However, an hour later the bottom of the clamp cracked. Since it's a cheap bit of kit, I expected it to have sloppy tolerances, which it certainly did. The problem is in order to keep your phone pointed even vaguely in the direction you were hoping for, is that you need to really tighten everything down. Clearly this has a a simple thread adapter in an injection molded plastic shell with no structure to it, so when torquing the clamp down to the shoe adapter portion... it cracked. Otherwise the clamp portion clamped very well for the single day I used this.

Awesome if you're wanting to mount phone on hotshoe.

I have a Smith-Victor 19" ring light with a hotshoe mount for cellphone cameras. SV offers their own phone mount for $25 which seemed pricy, so I tried this mount first. The phone fits fine into the mounting bracket and seems stable enough. It would have worked, but there's just not enough space between the mount's hotshoe plate and the tightening wheel above it to fit into the slot on the ringlight. Can't slide it on without damaging one or the other, so I can't use the mount. This is a spacing issue, so I don't know if it would work on other hotshoes, such as atop a camera, for example, but I can't use it. So YMMV.

Decent product for the price point. Very Cheaply made but functions correctly

Bought it to play videos on while trying to photograph families with small children. Playing music and videos has help to keep the smallest of clients engaged.
