## Description

Presidium Duo Tester II (PDT II) is the only comprehensive tool on the market that combines two proven testing methods for gemstones. PDT II differentiates diamonds from its simulants based on both their thermal conductivity and reflective indexes. Coated gemstones can also be generally tested with the PDT II. The Presidium Duo Tester II comes with a probe pen that has a retractable probe tip which ensures consistent pressure against the gemstone during testing for more reliable results. With the industry’s thinnest probe tip size of 0.6mm, PDT II tests gemstones as small as 0.02ct. *Does not differentiate between natural and synthetic colored gemstones.

Al principio pensaba en regresarlo porque la calibración parecía no funcionar, la aguja nunca llegaba a "cal", pero las gemas sí las identificaba correctamente. Después de unos días, la calibración funcionó a la perfección, quizá necesitaba reposar por el transporte. Detecta correctamente todo lo que he probado: diamantes, zafiros, rubíes, aguamarinas, granates, turmalinas, cuarzos, jadeita y nefrita, granates... Incluso me llevé algunas sorpresas tanto buenas como malas al saber qué eran algunas gemas de las cuales no estaba seguro. Le quito una estrella porque la función de refracción es muy quisquillosa, la gema debe estar extremadamente bien pulida y sin ningún rayón o polvo para que de resultados exactos, de lo contrario no sirve con muchas gemas facetadas que probé. Pero decidí quedármelo porque sí me es de utilidad la función de conductividad eléctrica, y la de refracción la uso cuando tengo una gema muy bien pulida para comprobar que al menos se acerque al valor esperado.

**Q: Does this test for Moissanite ?**
A: The DuoTester can test Conductivity of Moissanite, and also Reflectivity if your Moissanite sample is a cut gem with a flat surface.  In the Conductivity test, Moissanite would read into the Diamond range, narrowing the question to either Diamond or Moissanite.  But then the Reflectivity test should separate the two species because Moissanite is more reflective than Diamond.

**Q: Does the duo tester work for torquise?**
A: No torquise is not a reflective stone.

**Q: Does this model work for rough diamonds that show no clarity and just came out of the soil? This exact model not another model please.**
A: i do not test rough diamonds that show no clarity and just came out of the soil.
the technical specs for the device is not totally dependent on the clarity ...yet is based on both their thermal conductivity and reflective indexes.

**Q: How much voltage, frequeny and wattage?**
A: This is not a voltage meter. It measures the density of a gem stone to determine gem type. Your question does not make any since.

Bought in October 2024. And worked a few months with occasional use, but noticed a few times while in the middle of testing a gem, the machine would turn off. I flipped it on and off and it turned back on, but it just happened again, and will not turn on or beep at all. I tried putting batteries in, tried different outlets and will not turn on.
