Professional Guide Rail Adapter (FSN 70/140, 28 x 19 cm, Accessories for Hand-Held Circular Saws)

Great little adaptor that solves a problem that was boschs making. But watch out as the arm is too wide for some Bosch saws, I had an afternoon with a hanksaw and file to adapt it for my 18v saw, which the blurb said it fitted!!! Works a treat now though!!

Used with a Bosch circular saw and an Evolution track saw guide. Works well with both track guide and the circular saw.

Did the job perfectly, simple to fit. Works as it should with Evolution guide rails.

It's a good idea I've tried a few and this one was best I've got a track saw but this is quicker and easier

The new Bosch Professional and DIY 18V range tools are great. The PKS18V Li is a really good circular saw but the short, non-standard, plastic Bosch DIY guide rails don't match this saw's performance. So I was guided by Amazon and Bosch to this adapter so that I could use the PKS 18V Li with the Bosch FNS and other metal guide rails. However this adapter only fits old PKS saws and not new PKS saws like this one. The metal bar that slides into the saw's base plate is about twice as wide as the parallel guide that comes with the saw, so apart from replacing the saw, the only option would seem to be to grind down the adapter bar to fit, removing half of it lengthways. Not ideal. Bosch make great kit and I have bought a lot of it, but as an engineer, I think Bosch have completely lost the plot by undermining their highly re-usable interoperable battery strategy by ensuring that devices themselves are non-interoperable. Duh. Separately, Amazon could do a lot more to ensure accuracy in their search engine & content management algorithm, which should have picked up this data quality anomaly.

Bosch make really good power tools, I have a few myself. But on this one they really could make it easier to explain which saws and guide rail system are compatible and which require this adapter. I recorded a video to explain my situation, but in short that adapter is not compatible with either one of my saws (PKS 18LI) or with the guide rail FSN 1100. After having done some more research, that adapter is for their old guide rail system the FSN 70 or FSN 140. So now I’m either going to have to source the old guide rail or return the adapter and buy another Bosch saw from their professional range compatible with their newer guide rail FSN 1100…

Bought this guide rail adapter to use with a Bosch GKS 190 circular saw and FSN140 guide rails. All fits together and works brilliantly, giving very accurate repeatable results. Also makes the circular saw much easier to handle. Bosch's guide rail situation is confusing. The newer guide rails will not work with this rail adapter and the saw. Had to do some sleuthing in order to determine which rails were compatible. Deduction 0.5 stars. It is an expensive item, for what it is so another deduction 0.5 stars. All that said, the guide rails are one of those purchases I wish I'd made many moons ago.
