I’ve never done plastic welding but this was a great kit to get started with. Very easy to use, tons of plastic material and accessories, which proved very useful for my first big project. A big storm had flipped and buckled the plastic slide on a play set at our church. While the broken wood parts could be repaired readily and inexpensively, to replace the slide was going to be $600. For the low price of this welding kit it was worth a try to get the kiddos playing again. It worked surprisingly well and was very easy to use. The results aren’t going to be picture perfect, necessarily, but this can save you time of money. For this project I made a bend on the squiggly staples to match the curved surface, cut the wires low with side cutters, used a Dremel to grind down the ends of the metal posts and then filled in with the supplied plastic. That was to keep the posts from catching or cutting the kids’ hands. Not pretty, but it worked, and I tested the slide myself. The welder has plenty of power and heat. It does get warm to hold after long use, but just take a break and let it cool off, or wear work gloves

Excellent for my needs. I had a project on my ATV where I had a plastic piece that was cracked. It wasn't something that was seen easily, but it was allowing mud into an area that I preferred it not be. The new part was over $50, so I thought I would try this first. It works well and easy to use. I do wish it had better instructions of all of the things that come in the case, but I have sort of figured most of it out. But for example there is plastic rods for repairs, there are different shapes and sized of the same color and not real sure when I should use which one. I got the job done and used one of them, but was it the best for the job...don't know. And the case is loaded with stuff...even has new clips to lock the lid closed. The one thing I high suggest you watch out for is the small diameter of the wire of the staples....several times I ran them into my fingers and oh man does that hurt. Completely my fault, but really easy to do...so watch out.

My first time with one of these. I purchased this kit to repair a truck bumper. It has a good assortment of plastic welding rods. All kinds. Many bags of staples. Various. Nice exacto knife, and a decent set of side cutters. Stainless mesh, metallic tape, and more. That said, trying to repair the mounting holes on my bumper quickly lead to the gun shutting down. And the handle gets pretty warm. It does not seem up to the task of melting the larger flat bars. Overheats quickly, and takes a while to reset. At least there is a protective circuit. Worked better with the thin round rods. Have not yet tried the staples, but I have a project in mind for that. Suspect it is a good stapler. Welder... meh.

I made a variety of repairs with the welder and I am quite satisfied with it. It comes with a large supply of different materials for making repairs. The box is actually large enough to easily place the welder and supplies back in very easily. Kit comes with a decent pair of wire cutters and a solid built utility knife. Sanding the wire clips is not a good option a file or grinder works much better. All the repairs I made are strong and functional but not beautiful which is ok. When you clip the wire down be sure and wear eye protection or you may catch an eye injury.

We purchased the VCTSELITY Upgraded 220W Plastic Welding kit for repairing our kids plastic slide. We used both repair methods the kit offered . The first being the hot staple which worked amazing . The one tip I will give for the hot staple is to place the staple in position before pulling the trigger to heat it up . Once the staple has melted to depth release the trigger and let it cool before pulling the gun away . The gun heats up super quick so you will not have to wait long to set the staple to depth. This was so easy and again worked amazing . The second method of using the plastic filler rods . I had a harder time with but was able to seam in the crack without issue . I did not read any instruction and the result was decent so I’m fairly confident anyone can do it with a little research first . Only advise I can give for this we be to lend the existing plastic into a v channel then melt the rod into the channel . Once complete sand the filler smooth. We were really impressed with how much stuff came in the kit , the gun , staples , tools , consumables and so much filler rods . It even included a decent little case come with extra clasp incase the originals break . This is a really amazing value for the price and how much is included.
