A bonus of 11. The pins arrive in a durable plastic container that snaps shut, with a compartment for each size of safety pin (see my photos). The smaller the pins, the more numerous. I counted them as follows: 15 of the 2 1/4 inch pins. 25 of the 1 1/4 inch pins. 25 of pins a bit under 1 1/8 inches. 36 of pins just over 7/8 inches. 60 of 3/4 inch pins. The pins are made of lightweight metal bent.
