The total height with the dome on top of the base tray is about 7 inches. Thus resulted in a significant reduction in germination rate, just by using this product. If you've already ordered it and can't return (like me, having realized this issue too late) you can kind of fix it by cutting off a row and a column of the seed tray to get it to fit.
