Like, If i have a plane to take, can i put it on my lugagge and will survive to it?** A: It is not fragile. I would pack it a little carefully, like wrap it in a sock. Otherwise, it's pretty thick glass. **Q: Does anyone know if it gets through tsa easily? due to business - i'm airports alot and would like to keep it in my carry-on bag.** A: Yes. I too travel frequently and have had no problems at airport security. **Q: Does anyone try to convert this to use ground coffee?** A: Have never tried to use ground coffee. The pods that you use are very compact to force the water through the coffee. Not sure it would work. **Q: Why is high pressure required to make espresso? Is the need for high pressure specific to just the hand-held portable espresso makers?** A: Because high pressure extracts the flavor from coffee grounds. The higher the pressure (bar, typically 15 bar) the more efficient the flavor extraction from coffee grounds and the thicker the crema on top of the coffee. You should seek a thick crema on the coffee so you can enjoy it to the fulleste xtent. All pump-driven espresso machines have a 15-bar pressure indication. So took the plunge and bought him a handpresso for Christmas. Quite expensive I thought but what the heck.Its lovely! Makes apparently good expresso (I've no idea I hate the stuff), quick, easy, really easy to clean and it fits in the cutlery drawer. I got this for a holiday trip and it worked out really well. As long as you have access to hot water it makes coffee making really simple. It produces a really nice little cup of espresso at a perfect drinking temperature. It's easy to pump up to the right pressure, add water, put in pod, turn over, press button and it's ready. It does tend to spurt and splutter at the end of the pour, so make sure it's on a surface that can take some splashes.
