*4 and a half out of 5* The fifth entry in the series and the first of now current franchise director, Christopher McQuarrie’s instalments. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation sees Ethan (Tom Cruise) and his team (Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg & Ving Rhames) and an undercover British agent (Rebecca Ferguson) take on their most impossible mission yet when they have to eradicate an international rogue organisation as highly skilled as they are and committed to destroying the IMF. It really is rare for a franchise to be arguably keep improving as its sequel numbers get higher, however it truly is the case for Mission: Impossible from 3 onwards. Opening with one of the most memorable and jaw dropping stunts in the whole series before the opening credits have even rolled shows the sheer level of confidence, identity and audience understanding that the series has established now. Going for a full on unique terrorist/espionage thriller and once again witnessing the potential fall of IMF. Focusing more on Ethan’s potential obsession with this lifestyle and his friends as they themselves can’t help but get avoid getting wrapped up in the journey. As mentioned before in this and my previous review for Ghost Protocol the franchise truly has established it’s tone and what it needs to do to constantly meet and exceed the audience’s expectations. Said opening sequence is incredible and absolutely is a statement of intent, with Cruise strapping himself to the side of a plane and having it take off in real time, the camera positioning and movements are perfect for showing us the best angles for the most excitement and tension. The stealthy tense opera sniper fight is creative and nerve wracking with an excellent usage of diegetic music and set design. The underwater infiltration section is unique and once again sees Cruise actually having to hold is breath for a substantial amount of time in real life. The highlight though has to be car to motorbike chase sequence. An absolute triumph in capturing the essence of speed and nail biting tension, with thrilling choreography and camera positioning. As expected by now Cruise gives his all and more. There is a reason why Ethan Hunt is probably his most iconic character. Pegg, Renner & Rhames once again deliver as his main team mates and friends. New franchise member Rebecca Ferguson does a brilliant job as the undercover British agent. She is cunning and stunning as she kick ass in many of her own action set pieces. Sean Harris is broods a subtle and imposing menace as the main antagonist and Alec Baldwin does a good job as the new Secretary. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation once again delivers the intensity, engagement, thrilling action and top performances as expected. Fully established in its tone, style and expectations. The highlight of the franchise so far.

Another Tom Cruise master piece

If the home run of Ghost Protocol got the series back on track, then Rogue Nation unquestionably smashes it out of the park. The film starts with the tent-pole stunt from the movie poster where Ethan Hunt has, to say the least, a tricky time boarding a cargo plane of stolen warheads. (It’s hard to find the right superlatives as we know the stunt was done for real, with minimal CGI, by Cruise – so I won't even try). Anyway, it turns out that Hunt had just thwarted The Syndicate, who we eventually learn is a shadowy organisation aiming to set up its own rogue nation, one with absolute power to shape world events for its own ends. The Syndicate promptly captures Hunt in London, but before they get chance to go to work on him he escapes their torture cell, on barefoot (a nice reference to Ghost Protocol) thanks to some insider-assistance. Meanwhile, CIA boss Alec Baldwin is busily disavowing the IMF and has put a capture or kill order out on Hunt, as if he didn’t have enough problems. And all this in the first 20 minutes! The film then rockets around the world to its 3 main acts. First to Austria where Hunt hooks up with Simon Pegg’s Benji to try and block an assassination attempt on the Austrian Chancellor during a grand opera performance of Puccini’s Turandot. A terrific sequence where director Christopher McQuarrie openly homages ‘The Man Who Knew Too Much’ (one of a few nods to Hitchcock) as Hunt desperately attempts to save the chancellor from, count them, 3 snipers before the crashing orchestra reaches the final note of Nessun Dorma. The expanding but still off the grid IMF team then nip over to Morocco, as Hunt breaks into and hacks another impregnable mainframe (this one under water!), dies, gets defibrillated back to life, hops on a superbike and has one of the best motorbike chases I've ever seen on the silver screen; completely exorcising the now slightly maligned stunt bike work in MI:2. When we move back to London for part 3 there’s a bit of time to get our breath back, but not much, as Cruise & co track ever so closer to the mysterious Syndicate leader. In this final act McQuarrie eschews the all-out frenetics of the previous 90 minutes in favour of mind games and double-bluffs, dark streets and foot chases and yes, masks – and a classic Mission Impossible TV series inspired denouement. There is so much to praise in MI:5. It unashamedly throws the OTT stunts at you but it doesn’t forget that at heart it’s a spy movie – in fact take the stunts away and you’re still left with a cracking yarn of double dealings, murders, evasions and good old fashioned secret-snatching. And I love the throwbacks and retro references – red public telephone boxes, a scene in a second-hand vinyl record shop and film-noir back streets that could almost be filmed in black and white. But we wouldn’t care for any of this without the characters. Cruise is as engaging as ever and holds the whole film together; Pegg again plays the everyman comedy relief he does so well; Alec Baldwin is in domineering Glengarry Glen Ross form, and Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames are as good as they can be in very much supporting roles, though Rhames feels a little under used as you find yourself wanting him to hit his pivotal heights of MI:1. Sean Harris, the film's central antagonist menaces pretty effectively in the few scenes he’s in (albeit bordering on pantomime villain), but the wow factor has to go to Rebecca Ferguson as the sassy and decidedly lethal, duplicitous operative whose side you’re never quite sure she's on. It’s hard to say whether or not this is the best entry so far, and everyone will have a different opinion. I personally still love MI:1 (helicopter in the Channel Tunnel notwithstanding) and whether Rogue Nation stands the test of time and repeat viewings remains to be seen, so for now there’s no need to compare – just enjoy.

It continues the format of the preceding series which involves breathtaking action scenes and death-defying stunt work. PARENTS MAY WISH TO KNOW that there are scenes of violence, namely stabbing, hand-to-hand combat, shooting and explosions. As in all of the M:I movies, these scenes are choreographed in a way that is not natural in order to create an artistic effect, and is relatively bloodless. There is infrequent mild swearing, and flirting seems to be the only sexual content in this movie. As you can see, I have not included any spoilers in this review. PLEASE NOTE: This film is very exhilarating - don't forget to breathe while you're watching it!!!

Als Filmfan, der zeitbedingt selbst noch kaum ins Kino kommt, aber das Glück hat, ein Heimkino sein Eigen zu nennen, bin ich bei Rezensionen zu Filmen weniger an der Geschichte bzw. dem Inhalt interessiert, den finde ich auf anderen Plattformen im Netz gut rezensiert bzw. kritisch gewürdigt, sondern eher an der technischen Umsetzung des Films, insbesondere was Bild und Ton angeht. Daher gehen meine kurzen Rezensionen nicht bzw. nur sehr selten auf den Inhalt ein, sondern geben kurz und knapp meine Wahrnehmung der Bild- und Tonqualität wieder; hier und da mit Blick auf Szenen oder Filmteile, die besonders imposant umgesetzt sind - hier bietet sich dann z.B. ein Vorführen des Heimkinos bzw. das Austesten von Lautsprecher oder Beamer an. Von daher sind meine Rezensionen alles andere als vollständig, geben dem ein oder anderen aber vielleicht genau den Tip, den sie oder er gerade sucht. Bildqualität: Mission Impossible : Rogue Nation offeriert ähnlich wie bereits der Vorgänger "Mission Impossible - Phantom Protocol" ein in weiten Teilen des Films absolut harmonisch umgesetztes Bild mit tollen Farbkontrasten. Die Farbgebung ist Ausgestaltung ist eher natürlich, ohne starke Filter oder sonstige Veränderungen. Farben werden zwar natürlich, aber mit einer angenehmen Brillianz und Leuchtkraft dargestellt. Der Film bietet eine angenehme, nicht zu aufdringliche Bildschärfe; Artefakte, Bildrauschen oder "Griseln" konnte ich beim Betrachten auf Leinwandgröße kaum ausmachen. Die Tiefenschärfe sowie Nahaufnahmen gelingen sehr ordentlich; Unschärfen - die nicht gewollt waren - habe ich nicht erkennen können. Das Gesamtbild ist sehr gefällig, ohne Farbabweichungen in bestimmte Skalen oder künstliche Veränderungen; das Hinschauen macht Spaß. Die Einbettung der CGI gelingt in allen Teilen des Films hervorragend. Die hochwertigen Effekte fügen sich sehr gut in das "authentische" Filmmaterial ein. Sehr gut umgesetzt. Tonqualität: Soundtechnisch kann der Film - ich beziehe mich auf die Englische Fassung in DD 5.1 - absolut begeistern. Der Rocklastige Musicscore ist sehr gut abgemischt und in die sonstige Klang- und Effektkulisse sauber integriert. Die Stimmwiedergabe läuft sauber und gut eingepegelt über den Center; die Dialoge gliedern sich hervorragend in die Gesamtsoundkulisse ein ohne weder in effektlastigen Szenen unterzugehen, noch zu dominant zu wirken. Hier wurde sehr hervorragend gearbeitet. Die Codierung liefert in einem 5.1 Heimkino einen sehr solide und sorgfältig abgemischten Ton. Insgesamt wird ein sehr breiter, angenehm von den Boxen abgelöster Klang erreicht; keine LS wirken aufdringlich oder in bestimmten Teilen des Films überbeansprucht. Die Surroundspeaker schaffen ein sehr räumliches Klangbild, das in vielen Szenen sinnvoll eingesetzt wird - als besonderes Highlight empfinde ich akkustische Umsetzung der Vorgeschichte; hier insbesondere den Start des Transportflugzeuges, auf das unser Protagonist während des Starts aufspringt. Bereits die einleitenden Dialoge von Benji und Luther sind effektvoll eingefangen; den Kontrapunkt bietet der Bass- und Effektlastige Start des Fliegers; hier werden die Surroundboxen hervorragend eingesetzt, es kommt zu einer tollen 360 Grad Klangkulisse; insbesondere aber auch den Subwoofer merkt man bis in die Magengrube spürbar. In dieser Szene wird von hohen bis tiefen Frequenzen jeder Lautsprecher gefordert und zur Leistung ermuntert. So macht Heimkino Spaß. Diese Szene würde ich für das Austesten des Heimkinos definitiv als Referenz erachten. Toll! In der BluRay Fassung liegt eine sehr sorgfältige technische Umsetzung vor, die den Kauf der BluRay m.E. absolut rechtfertigt; hier erhält man einen Film mit Aspirationen zum Referenzmaterial, mit dem das Austesten bzw. Vorführen des eigenen Heimkinos sicherlich gelingt.

I am not a big fan of Tom Cruise the man. But I have to admit that I really like his movies. And when you add Rebecca Ferguson to the mix, "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" is an absolute winner. Cruise rarely gets to show what a skilled actor he really is since most of his roles- especially lately - are more physical than intellectual but that's not really a drawback in my opinion: He is brilliant when it comes to action movies and the fact that he does most of his own stunts only adds to their appeal. That's true in this film, which could almost be accused of being a James Bond clone with its worldwide criminal/terrorist organization attacking anyone and everyone and a beautiful heroine who is a crack shot, an expert knife fighter, and martial artist. Ferguson, as Ilsa Faust, is a delight to watch and a perfect complement to Cruise's generally low-key portrayal of IMF agent Ethan Hunt. Cruise and Ferguson work well together and I would love to see them in a subsequent film. Mission Impossible regulars Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Jeremy Renner are back and do a wonderful job in supporting roles as does franchise newcomer Alec Baldwin as the director of the CIA. Sean Harris, as head of the terrorist organization Solomon Kane, is very good in the role in which he matches Cruise's understated menace with his own soft-spoken villainy. Great action sequences - including a spectacular motorcycle chase - and excellent fight scenes - especially Ferguson's knife duel with Jens Hulten as bad guy Janik Vinter - make this a must see for anyone in the mood for a pulse-pounding, adrenaline-fueled night at the movies.

Peliculom ,la imajen en 4k es muy buena y el sonido también.Recomiendo sonido en inglés es dolby atmosférico y suena de maravilla los 2 discos en español castellano y buen precio ,compra recomendado si eres fan de la saga.el HDR muy bien se nota la definición y los colores.

Über den Film selbst will ich gar nicht viel sagen, da kann sich schließlich jeder selbst zu auf Kritiker-Portalen (Metacritic, Rotten Tomatoes) professionelle Meinungen anschauen. Mir persönlich hat der Film sehr gut gefallen, sonst hätte ich mir das Steelbook auch nicht bestellt. Für Leute wie mich, die Thriller sehr gerne schauen und Wert auf Dialoge legen, ist der Film zu empfehlen. Nun zum Steelbook selbst: Zunächst war ich sehr von Amazon enttäuscht, da mein Rogue Nation Steelbook erst am 21.12.2015 ankam (Release Date war 17.12.2015). Na gut, ist zur Weihnachtszeit und hat mit dem Film an sich rein gar nichts zu tun. Außerdem wurden mir 5,00 Euro erstattet, da der Preis von 29,99 Euro (Vorbestellerpreis) auf 24,99 Euro gesenkt wurde. Soweit so gut. Das Steelbook selbst kommt mit einem abziehbaren FSK-Sticker und einem zusätzlichen "Papp-Schild", das mit Klebe-Noppen am oberen Vorseitenrand und der Rückseite befestigt ist. Alle Klebespuren, die nach dem Abziehen vorhanden waren, konnte ich ohne größere Mühe mit einem Mikrofasertuch entfernen. Der "Mission: Impossible"-Schriftzug ist geprägt, "Tom Cruise" und "Rogue Nation" sind aufgedruckt, ebenso das IMF-Siegel auf der Rückseite. Beim Abspielen beider Blu-rays sind mir folgende Punkte positiv aufgefallen: - kein nerviger Trailer eines anderen Film vor den Film-Menüs. - sehr gute Bildqualität. Das Bild ist in teal&orange blockbustertypisch eingefärbt. Das mag manchen missfallen, allerdings hatte ich Rogue Nation zuvor bei Amazon (Instant) Video ausgeliehen, wo mir das farbschwache Bild überhaupt nicht gefiel. - in meinen Augen sehr guter, angenehmer Sound in der deutschen Synchronisation. Ich weiß, dass andere den Sound bemängeln, wegen der geringen Dynamik und Tiefe, zweifelsohne die Folge einer hohen Soundkompression, ABER ich mag das. Es gibt Filme, bei denen man ständig bei Action-Szenen leiser schalten muss, weil man bei den Dialogen zuvor den Sound aufreißen musste. Dies ist hier nicht der Fall. Einmal den richtigen Soundpegel zu Beginn finden und schon muss man nichts mehr nachjustieren. In meinen Augen sehr angenehm und benutzerorientiert. Wer es nicht mag, soll sich halt die englische Fassung mit Dolby Atmos anschauen. Diese soll über weitaus mehr Dynamik und Wumps verfügen. - viele Extras (über 45 Minuten auf der Film-Disc, rund 70 Minuten auf der Bonus-Disc), die ich mir leider noch nicht alle anschauen konnte, aber auf meinen Fotos festgehalten habe. Das wären meine persönlichen Eindrücke. Ich hoffe, dass die Bilder bei der Kaufentscheidung hilfreich sind.
