Review: Slight modification makes this super resilient in windy conditions! - I've had one of these blackout blinds for a few years now (cheaper than Velux blinds!) and it's great: easy to install, easy to put up/take down, 10/10 stuff. So I bought this larger set with the goal of cutting it in half, so 2 blinds for the price of 1 (you get 12 suction cups with it). Now, I have these installed on velux windows that are at 45 degrees - pretty much the worse angle for tension - and the windows are often open a bit - so lots of wind force hitting them. While the velcro works 90% of the time, when it gets a bit windy they do come down. Granted this issue is very *very* specific to me... but I fixed it by taking out the screw on the velcro suction pad, and just screwing the suction pad directly to the blind - circumventing the velcro. Now a hurricane can hit them and they don't budge! TL;DR: These are great. Cheap, easy to install, easy to use, properly blacks out a room in broad daylight.
Review: Excellent for standard windows, not for skylight - Bought x large size to do both my bedroom (standard window) and babys room (skylight) as she still co-sleeps in my room part of night. Blind was easy to cut. As mentioned blind is quite heavy to manoeuvre by yourself (I may just be weak) to keep it sticking up and get it tight to get the other side stuck. Ended up sticking some velcro in the wrong place but you do get quite a few pieces so should be OK. Doesn't look pretty on the outside (to neighbours) and is a bit of a faff to put it up and down twice a day. But blocks the light amazingly. Literally my room is pitch black when it is all smoothed out and sitting tight on the frame. The skylight window hasn't covered quite as well. The velcro pieces don't seem to stay stuck to the wooden frame of the skylight and they do fall down. Probably weren't made for skylights but was cheaper than a blind. Blocks out maybe 70-80% of light in baby room but will probably opt for the blind as it is difficult to open window etc with blackout blind in place. Velcro has come unstuck several times and had to be replaced as lost stickiness. However the velcro on standard pic window is holding fine and have been taking it up and down regularly for a month. Overall though I do love this product

**Q: Is this blind suitable for use in a rental property?**
A: Yes, absolutely. I recommend having some white spirit ready to get rid of remaining adhesive when you leave. You will want to take the blackout blind with you but be aware that you will need new sticky hook circles for your new place. Good luck.

**Q: How effective is the silver in keeping the room cooler? I would like to buy this product if the heat reflective silver works.**
A: I have left the blind attached to the window frame with the window slightly open during this last week of 33C in London. The glass and the metal frame became hot but the room was noticeably cooler than the next room without a blackout blind. I would definitely recommend.

**Q: Is this suitable for every day use?**
A: I use it everyday, it does mean putting it up and taking it down each day which some people may find a bit of a pain. We get condensation on Windows so have to take it down each day to stop mildew. May get a blind fitted at later date but this provides quick easy cheap solution at moment.

Does what it says . It really blacks out. No more light filtering through. Great product! Only reason it's one star down is the sticky velcro... I think it's adhesive dried out and crumbled. So it didn't stick... Best to have a reliable sticky velcro brand. Don't use the suction cups. Other than that worth the price for a peaceful sleep if you are light sensitive.
