I needed to replace my cheaper toe rest, my last toe rest lasted 10 years before the choke tubes/ barrels tore it up enough to require replacement. This rest has a nice fit and finish with the edges blended perfectly. The brass rivets are a nice touch and add to the durability. As for remarks that this is an unsafe product that encourages unsafe practices i would disagree, the proper use of this device is to rest your break barrel shotgun on your foot and the rest with the firearm broken open while waiting your turn to shoot. While in a broken open state the ability to injure yourself or others is pretty close to zero as that the firearm is inoperable in that state. This is a major advantage to break open firearms in range use and in the field, if broken open the firearm is safe and clearly shows a safe state to others in the vicinity. No accidental discharges or doubts with the proper use of a break open firearm.
