I used to have to empty my vac and clean the filters two or three times a day during bigger projects but the dust commander does a great job at capturing about 80-90% of the workshop waste with only the finest stuff getting as far as the vacuum cleaner. Yes, I still have to clean the filter once in a while but this bit of kit has made a huge difference to the overall waste collection and I do recommend it. Coming pre-built with the bleed valve already installed as well was a huge bonus. 4 stars instead of 5 because - it’s top heavy and needs a wider base (or build one) - the container sides are a little thin, meaning strong suction would collapse the barrel. I accidentally bashed mine with a length of timber and broke the housing.** A: Find the company and ask them. Alternatively look for some sort of threaded bush with nut(s) and rubber washers at a plumber's merchant that allows for the adjustable valve spindle to go through but also seal against on the inside of the bush. I'd recommend taking what you have of the old valve along to show what you need. Many threaded plumbing connections can be used for other things! **Q: Whats the difference between the P30 and the S30?** A: The P30 kit includes the DUST COMMANDER classic cyclone and a 30l plastic barrel.The S30 kit includes the DUST COMMANDER DLX ESD cyclone and a 30l steel barrel. **Q: What is the overall height and width please** A: The actual height is 31 inches by 12 inches hope this is helpfull **Q: Would this be suitable for masonry dust? as i would like to start some diy repointing. Set it up really quickly and easily. I was surprised to find I didn't have to screw the vortex onto the lid, everything is ready to go. Connected my nilfisk shopvac to the top and a tube to the side port, and away you go. I didn't think the suction was thst great to start with, but I ran my mitre saw with a few odd bits of ply and some mdf and was amazed with the amount of dust that ended up in the bottom. I didn't want to shell out for another vac/ extractor when I've already got one with an auto on function so this fitted my needs perfectly.
