Amazing value and features!
Fantastic value! I've used this to drive the 3phase 3hp motor on my Bridgeport mill. It's a little bit of a learning curve navigating the menu and setting all of the parameters, but once you read through the instructions carefully enough it's not bad and anyone can set up motor parameters if your motor has a spec plate on it. All of the specs and features available are amazing as well for supporting external switches and what not. Wouldn't hesitate at all to get another if it was needed for another machine down the line, in fact I would try to get this one or appropriately sized brother to it for my next machine that will need phase conversion.

Incredible for the Money
I purchased this VFD for converting my Do-All band saw to single phase power. The VFD was (thankfully) exactly the right size to fit in the existing electrical cabinet. The included quick start guide had most of the critical functions required to get this VFD up and running. To configure it to use the existing start and stop buttons on the front of the saw took a little more effort, and a trip to the full operating manual. I would recommend you (or a friend) have a little bit of experience with electrical circuits to wire this thing up. As long as you understand concepts like "normally open" and "normally closed" switches, you should be alright. I ended up using the "three wire" configuration, where the NC stop button is wired between S3 and GND, and the NO start button is wired between S3 and S1. This required P05.13 and P05.03 to be set to 3, and P05.01 to be set to 1. In this same configuration you could wire up a button to spin the motor in reverse between S3 and S2, and set P05.02 to 2 I believe. As there's no reason you'd ever want to run a band saw backwards, I did not do this. One other "gotcha" is by default the "stop" action is programmed to decelerate to a stop. This requires that a braking resistor be installed. If you do not have a braking resistor you'll overvolt the DC bus and get the error "OV2". Change P01.08 to 1 to change the stop behavior to "coast down" instead of decel. I hooked some current sensors up to the 3 phase output and took a few measurements to see how "good" the three phase power is coming out of the VFD. What I saw was, for a setting of 60Hz, each phase was within +-1Hz accuracy. I also looked at the relative phase angle between the phases, and found it to be +-10deg. Not bad at all for a $100 VFD. Attached are a couple scope traces. One has the frequencies of each phase at the bottom, the other has the V and W phases angle relative to the U phase. I will end up purchasing another one of these for my bridgeport, which is currently running off a static phase convertor.

Great controller
Works great

Read the entire operation guide
The VFD arrived safely, the packaging was excellent. The hook-up/wiring was easy and painless. I'm using the VFD to power a 1960's era, 5hp DeWalt radial arm saw. There is an initial learning curve to the operation of the VFD.

Too optimistic size declaration. It is not anywhere near 5 or even 4HP.
First of all I really like the device. It is well engineered, has Modbus out of the box, can run 3phase motor on 2phase (split phase) utility power. However the size stated is too optimistic. It is marketed as 5HP, in picture #5 it says 4.7HP max, however it is able to run my 3HP motor for 4-5 minutes and then shutdowns with "Uv", which is "DC bus undervoltage" error and a very strong smell of BURN PLASTIC. What I think (speculation) that it can run 4.7HP motor only on 3 phase AC source, not 2 phase. In my understanding AC-DC rectifier bridge overheats, DC bus voltage drops, VFD shuts down. So do your own reaserch! It is not capable of running 3HP motor on 240V split-phase for more than 4-5 minutes without overheating and shutting down. I would return it and get a bigger one from the same manufacturer. I hope 10HP VFD would be capable of running 3HP motor.

Parameters
Good VFD for the price. Also if you are using the 0-10V signal to drive the rpm be sure to change parameter P00.06 to a 2 as well. Took me awhile to find this. I think you have to put parameter P00.07 to a 0 to get it to work first.

Single phase to three-phase 2. Horsepower vfd for Lennox nibbler
I bought this and the ATO 3000gk. This was twice the size but is hands down the better vfd for half the price. I'm very happy with it. I actually like the bigger robust vfd with the bigger screen and the bigger buttons. Overall it's a cleaner looking unit. Doesn't look so cheap like the other one I paid more money for. I'm using it on my two horsepower. Three-phase Lennox true edge

Instruction manual is much better than the older models!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Bought this to replace a much older VFD that I probably overloaded and let the magic smoke out! The manuals on these have gotten light years better compared to 8 years ago but I did have some issues figuring out accessing the 3 different levels of programing, the nice thing they now have a programing code to reset the entire VFD back to factory default. Seems to have a lot more functions available for running it trough a PLC or a laptop. I'm using it to run a 1.5 Hp milling machine so it's a pretty basic setup.

Decent product
One of the drives came with a faulty control. Otherwise seem to work good.
