This tool’s quality is outstanding!

I bought this distribution tool back in 12/18/2023 and not even 3 months in, it decided to come apart. Before it decided to come apart, First initial impression it appears well build and heavy so the distribution tool will not spin when spinning the top half where the needle is place. Needles they are set in and unable to be replace when one is bent. Also they are on the thicker side, But manageable in breaking the clumps in the coffee for the espresso extraction. Where it came apart it seem the bearing came lose and detach itself. Can it still be used, sure but I am not going to play yo-yo with the distribution tool and adding one more step in my work flow. This has became my $50 paper weight or a -$1 at a scrap metal yard. For this price and pay a bit more look else where like the Normcore. Name brand better build.

This a very sturdy piece. The set sits nicely on the porta filtre and the rotation is smooth since it works with a decently big ball bearing. Particularly on my device, it came with a small dot of glue or something that was giving it issues to rotate smoothly, but once I clean it out with sand paper, it performed pretty well. The needles are thick, so they are not so easy to bend. After couple turns the coffee is pretty loose with no clusters. My wife likes the fact that since there is a plate on top of the needles, the coffee stay on the ports filter and below its top if you set it properly. On the down side, there is not a way to pull the device without perturbing the new coffee distribution, so it doesn’t stay even. You will need to redistribute the coffee once more with a razor or other tool. For the price I was expecting a good distribution of the coffee like other similar tools do.
