I am an engineer in the aerospace industry and do a lot of research on products before I use them on my personal vehicles. Based on my research, I think these are excellent filters at a price point that makes them an exceptional value. In all the reviews I've read where these filters were run and then disassembled they held up fine. All the used oil analysis reports I've seen from people running these filters looked fine as well. In all honesty I'm not sure I'd be completely comfortable with the basic Fram oil filter, but the Ultra and the Tough Guard models are among the top performing filters out there based on everything I've read and my own experience. Everyone has their favorites and usually at least one or two "it saved the day" or horror stories to back-up their choice. Personally I've only had a few oil filter related failures over the last 50 years and none were so catastrophic that I even came close to losing an engine. The problems were usually leaks that showed up quickly and I've seen something along those lines with literally every brand out there. If you're looking for a well made product at good price that willl allow you sleep better at night while running (reasonable) extended oil change intervals, you'll be hard pressed to do better than these filters in my opinion.

I've been using these same FRAM XG16 oil filters for my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (WK) with the 4.7-liter V8 engine for at least 7 years without any problems.

I always use fram oil filters for at least 40 yrs. , this filter seems to be a better fram filter than I can buy at major stores and it was about a dollar cheaper and I didn't need to go to town which was a big money saver. I just order 3 more

The filter was fine but the box it was in was in bad shape. The shipping box was fine too. Kinda annoyed that the packaging box was so smashed up

I use the ultra filters exclusively in all my trucks. They are 15-20 years old and 250k-280k Km. The engines run smooth as silk and are clean internally. A good filter is key to longevity. Use the best filter, good oil, and change often. Do not go by those extended interval claims. Change at 5k to 7 k Km, no matter what!
