A fun way to practice math. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My Grandson is learning so much. *by S***E on March 22, 2023* This is great for my grandson while we waiting for our food at restaurants and when he needs some extra activity anytime. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun Ten Frames Activity for Home Schooling or Preschool Small Groups! *by R***R on January 17, 2023* As a preschool/PreK teacher I am always looking for interactive ways that will engage my students, these are exactly what I was looking for: What I love: The pieces are very bright, and easy for preschoolers to hold and manipulate. The shapes are super cute, and interesting “child-friendly” shapes like apples, cars, flowers, circles, hearts, and stars. This is great for teaching some basic shapes too. The magnetic ten frame boards have coordinating colors to the magnets, which are super bright and appealing colors and great for using in small groups, to track who is using which set. These are perfect for small group teaching activities, since my groups have about 6 children at a time in them anyways. This activity helps children make connections with counting numbers using one to one correspondence, since children can count them, and the number square helps them track when they count. The magnets stick nicely to the 10 frames, and the boards stick well to both magnetic white boards and magnetic chalkboard surfaces, even fridges with magnetic surfaces, if you want to have your preschooler practice this at home. There is blank space on the 10 frame cards to write numbers, and for more advanced students, number sentences, which is great to help students learn to correlate numbers they are saying with the number they counted. It is really nice that they included an extra magnet of each shape, in case my little ones lose them. : ) The set includes 4 slim markers with attached erasers which are really easy to use and erase. I would probably have wanted two more markers, just because there are 6 ten frames set, and only 4 markers for four sets, but not a problem for me because I am having my students use my “fat” dry erase markers because they are easier for my little ones to hold. (I can use these, and will give them the other markers, this way I can write the number with the thin marker if they need to trace a number or write out a number sentence.) I really like the ten frames as an intro set for my little ones. To extend on this I would probably purchase another set, so that if I have students who are more advanced, I can stack 2 cards together to practice counting to 20. Overall I highly recommend this set! I love that we can do this at the carpet in a small group and then students can work together collaboratively at the board, and because pieces are magnetic, they are super easy to use, and less easy for the children to lose the pieces.
