Ideal for low security requirements
It's a small lock so a little fiddly to select the combination compared to the 50mm version ( fingernail biters will struggle). Hopefully it will be as reliable and weather resistant as the 50mm version. The convenience of a combination lock makes this suitable for simple security requiring regular use. It's not heavy duty so will not deter a determined attack but ideal to prevent nuisance access to items/gates etc.

Disappointing lock from Squire
I bought this lock for a shed and paid a bit more than the cheapest lock to get something fit for purpose. Squire have been in the lock business for decades so should know what they're doing, right? First surprise was that the body appears to be made of plastic, not metal. Seems sturdy enough but this is not mentioned in the description. Second, the dimensions are wrong. The one I received is 70mm in length, not 165mm. Third, the code wheels are fiddly to operate and don't click into position and the lock won't open unless they're exactly right. The button on the bottom jams so it's also difficult to lock it again. It's impossible to use even with the thinnest cycling gloves on. Fourth, after less than 6 months the shackle is corroding. It annoys me every time I use it. I will either have to bite the bullet and throw it away or give it to someone I don't like.

Failed after 2 months
Quite a nice lock once set up and you get used to the fiddly combination wheels that are a bit too precise. Mine has broken after 2 months - the shackle won’t stay in the hole.

Simple lock, fussy combination setting.
This won't be the most useful of reviews, but I suspect not many are. We only got this for a gym locker so no testing in the rain. Who knows how secure it really is? I had a try following some videos about picking combination locks and it didn't play ball at all (good). But then maybe I'm just useless at picking locks (probability: high :-) ). Since I'm not going to destructively test it, I also don't know how good it is on that score. Truth be told, I avoided the unknown brands on here because I've seen some shockingly bad locks which seem to be being produced with zero real expertise or care. At least Squire has a brand name to protect and some track record of what works and doesn't so I figure they're going to make some effort at least. Compare that to a make you've not heard of and won't be here in six months. It works easily enough with the combination wheels having a nice feel (not too loose, not tight). Setting the combination requires removing a screw so is perhaps a bit more faff than other locks. But since you do this very rarely and it improves security (there's no access to the screw when it's locked), I'd say this is a good trade-off. The lock is encased in plastic so it's not possible to see what it's made of. They claim dual compound wotsit etc - who knows? Bottom line, it's a cheap combination lock but not from the cheapest unknown manufacturer. Provides a simple deterrent to protect low value things. Happy enough for our purposes. Personally I'd get something much better with wall to wall good reviews if trying to protect a shed or whatever.

After having 2 different Masterlocks fail on me, and having to have the gym staff cut them off, I finally put quality over quantity and bought a Squire lock. It seems incredibly sturdy, has a very smooth opening when you input the code, and has never jammed up. It works exactly how it's supposed to. I waited 2 months after purchase before leaving a review to see if it would hold up after 50+ uses. Also it has no issues fitting in through the lock holes on lockers, in case you were looking for a gym lock. 10 / 10 would recommend.
