Good quality
Very well made and sturdy

Extremely rain proof
This a good quality umbrella. Bought it for my partner and she's very happy with it. Likes the smooth opening action and the quality of the fabric and the pockets for the spikes.

Great
Brilliant umbrella that managed to withhold some harsh wind and rain on a trip, recently. Seamlessly goes up with a push of a button. Closing is a little clunky as the umbrella naturally resists as you push it down but not the end of the world.

Stylish urban umbrella, but not strong enough for seafront!
A very style conscious umbrella. I had to return it though, as I live on a seafront and really need the strongest, stormproof umbrella there is! Anything else and over the years I've learnt to my cost, there is no point! I bought this umbrella as the seller had listed it as 'stormproof' but after I ordered it I went on the Blunt website and saw that this particular make isn't their stormproof version, (that's another one). This is however, sturdier than your normal everyday umbrella and definitely a cut above most. I knew however from the moment I opened it, that it would not suffice for my area, mainly from the feel but also how the spokes were attached to the fabric - I know I need sewn seams along the spokes and these were attached by quite flimsy looking pieces of cotton thread. I liked the design and the colour and especially the fact that the ends of the spokes are covered and incorporated into the 'canopy'. Nice and neat - and much safer for crowded areas - It is good for its target audience - It's in the name - Metro. Not for gale swept seafront roads. The packaging it comes in (tube) is also very stylish but I can't help feeling that all those design details have added to the rather high-price and not necessarily the practical function. A lovely 'lifestyle object' and definitely for style conscious urban dwellers who have to carry one of those clumsy objects called umbrellas!

Poor coverage
It’s ok. Certainly not worth the money, not least because the coverage is quite poor because of the odd shape. The diameter advertised is the measurement across at the widest point. There is no mention of the measurement across at the narrowest point which is significantly smaller. Good quality materials though. Feels sturdy and the warranty appears to be good (although I’ve not had cause to test it).

The ultimate umbrella - seems indestructible
We have a bunch of Blunt umbrellas in different sizes, and they seem to be just about indestructible. I've put name tags on them - they are a bit expensive to lose.

Not remotely able to withstand gales.
We have some impressive gales on the Isle of Man and I needed something up to the challange. This… is not it. Howling gales today and it just relentlessly flaps inside out. Perhaps the only difference between this and a cheap umbrella is that it can do so without breaking. But that still doesn’t mean it serves the purpose. Immediate return.

Comfortable to hold
It’s not very small and light when folded but does hold up in the wind and is a great colour. It’s pricy but I feel it will last

I got this umbrella in the dark gray and found it to be really sleek and sturdy, so I'd definitely recommend. It's small enough to fit in your bag and comes with a nice sleeve to carry it with. Note that it's not huge and is probably more designed for one person, but you can fit two people reasonably. Note also that the button on the handle opens the umbrella but does not close it; you'll have to press the button toward the top of the umbrella (but under the covering) and pull it in, but this isn't a big deal and works just fine. I see that other people have noted issues about the quality and about the umbrella holding up in severe storms. I've used this umbrella in average, everyday rain storms with some fairly strong wind (I live in New England, and it does get pretty windy downtown during storms) and it's held up fine, but I haven't tested it in a super severe wind storm. I will say though that if it is extremely windy, I would probably expect most umbrellas to struggle except for those that are designed in the extreme to be super wind-proof, and those often come with their own concessions (mostly in terms of appearance). Yes you're paying more here, but admittedly I think a lot of that goes toward the sleek design and the quality materials. I'd say buy this umbrella if you want a sleek, attractive, somewhat fashion-forward umbrella that you'll be happy to pull out in front of your friends and colleagues on a day-to-day basis and that will withstand fairly strong winds, and then have a less attractive but super windproof umbrella in your closet for those really bad days.

Un must.
