Getting there!
It's too early for fruiting bodies yet but the mycelium is growing away nicely. The photo shows the mycelium growing in soaked barley straw. UPDATE: Sadly, the mushrooms spawn grew well until I put the casing on and then it died.

Bought this along with a PINK OYSTER MUSHROOM growing kit: Amazon loves to bundle stuff and recommends bundling 3 different spawns with the kit you buy: you would think that you will be able to grow 4 varieties at once. But no, you get the 1 growing kit only viable for 1 spawn of 1 type of mushroom for 1 time, so while you figure out what to do your 3 extra spawns are getting old. No instructions provided on the extra spawns you have to contact seller who then tells you that you can go download the instructions: like printing an extra 3 pages would have killed him. Charge 3 cents more and send the printed instructions. Now it is not cheap like they get you to believe, since you have to source a new substrate for the other spawns. Bottom line, unless you are experienced and have a substrate at home waiting for it DO NOT BUY.

Interesting if they grow
I was expecting the "box mushroom" in s box. Not 3 small packages with only the instructions of planting on line... don't know the flavour as I'm not successful yet. Hopeful but not holding my breath...

Bad Spawn
The spawn I have received was not viable, it looked dry and dead. In the same order I have purchased white mushroom spawn which I have successfully fruited in the same compost usedfor the portobello.

Not as expected!
It wasn’t a box, just spawn with complex instructions and more purchases needed...not what I was expecting, very disappointed, didn’t bother to use it!
