If you change your own oil, you need this.
I have always carried out my own oil changes. However, after using various containers to drain the oil into which always resulted in some sort of spill I decided to purchase this item. Am now kicking myself that I never did so in the past. Now, as it’s large enough, no mess and easy to empty waste oil into a suitable container, usually the old one the new oil actually came in. Basically very sturdy and easy to use. Only one tiny issue, the drain spout is angled downwards, this results in drips after its emptied. Just pop an old bit of rag in after use. Anyway, that’s a tiny issue. If you regularly change oil, you need this.

Works well for my BMW M57 3.0l
Oct 2023 @ £18.99. 16 litre pil drain pan. Works well for my M57N2D30 730D BMW which has a large oil capacity. Like others, I'm confused as to why you are not provided with a cap for the threaded pouring spout. It would stop it dripping when hanging in my garage. Other than that, it's very sturdy when moving the oil from A to B. I recommend it.

Really heavy duty oil pan, great size and easy to empty.

If you change your own oil you need one of these!
I had approx' 4 ltrs of old oil in a washing up bowl lined with a refuse sack...I expect others have done the same?! and needed to decant that into a container without spilling it like I did last time, causing a god awful mess over the herringbone bricks at the side of the house, it's surprising how a little gloop of oil can cause so much hassle to clear up. This pan works like a charm, pouring quickly without a drop of waste. I can only echo what others have said in reviews...this oil pan is an absolute 'must have' if you change your own oil or need to decant liquid into a container without slopping the stuff where it isn't needed. It is a bit on the large size for me but even so, it's made of tough moulded plastic, well designed and so simple to use. Excellent item.

Made the oil change much easier. Should have got one sooner
I have always done my own car servicing and never saw the need for one of these, thinking old washing up bowls or hollowed out plastic containers were fit for the job. I finally caved and bought this after having a new drive laid at my home. The item is thick plastic and very robust with a spout to assist in emptying. I was concerned about drips from this as the spout doesn’t have a cap. The pan fitted easily under the sump and caught every drop of oil that came out including any splashes made by the oil. I did the other car as well so it was holding ten litres of used oil. I picked it up and the pan didn’t flex at all and there was no spillage from the spout because the design of the pan meant that no oil went down the spout until the oil reached the very top of the pan so it was secure in their until I tilted it to pour in the travel container to take to the recycling centre. I would highly recommend this item if you enjoy doing your own car maintenance

If you are thinking about it, Just get one
What a difference vs the Draper 5 litre pans. Unlike those, you can actually pour the contents into a bottle and if you are brave, no funnel required either. This will last you 20 years and there's loads of capacity in case you drag it around a bit quickly. If you have one of the 5 litre versions get this and bin your old one.
