Great value for this style of saw
Smallish, but a great tool for cutting right to the edge of a piece of wood or trim, A pull saw, not poush-and-pull, but that is usual for this style of saw. If you need to cut door trim to allow for a higher floor, etc. this is a great tool that gives you real precision without having to remove and re-place the trim

Easy to use hand held saw. Perfect for smaller branches, heavy cardboard and scrubs. Stores easily and is well made.

A handy little saw.
This saw worked out great for trimming dowels and making small cuts. It was lightweight and flexible which allowed me to make angled cuts quite easily. It is small in size and versatile. I have been using it for many projects because I am able to make very accurate cuts. It's a good tool to have in my tool kit

Small, inexpensive and sharp as can be.
While it's small and the wood handle feels unfinished, it's sharp like other Japanese-style saws that I've used in the past. Hey, we're woodworkers and can sand and rub an oil finish into the handle and it'll perform with the best of them. Small price to pay for a sharp and inexpensive Japanese saw (that's really made in China)

Sharp, Precise, and a Joy to Use
This SS SHOVAN Japanese hand saw is fantastic. The double‑edged design with 11/17 TPI gives me great versatility—one side for fast cuts, the other for fine, detailed work. It slices through wood cleanly with almost no effort, and the flush‑cut capability is perfect for trimming dowels, tenons, and small joinery without scratching the surface. The blade is sharp, flexible, and well‑made, and the handle feels comfortable and secure during use. For the price, the quality is outstanding. A must‑have tool for any woodworking setup.

Sharp, nice flush trim with minimal surface scraping
I've used this saw to shorten the legs of three chairs, along with some test cuts. The saw came very sharp and has not shown noticeable dulling over the course of my cuts. I actually cut through the end and foolishly had my hand in the way and had four clear sharp cuts in my hand to show for it :S (my fault). The saw cut quickly and efficiently, more so than I'd expected. In any case, I did have some tearout in the cuts, which I expected given the material. I addressed this by scoring the end I'd eventually be cutting through. No problems after this. Highly recommended. At this price, so long as it stays sharp for a reasonable period of time, I think it's a great value.

Great for small projects, but check the size!
This saw is great for very small woodworking projects. It provides a nice, clean cut and feels like a quality tool. However, it was actually smaller than I thought it would be based on the pictures. If you are doing detailed, small-scale work, it’s perfect, but just be aware of the size before you buy!
