I got this unit specifically for odors. It seems to do well for cooking odors after dinner. It does nothing for pet odors; in fact, it seems to make them worse. It has never said I have anything but “good” air: even when I first turned it own. It also has a “Plastic” smell when the fan runs. Definitely disappointed and not worth the price. And still haven’t found where to buy a new filter.
