Ticonderoga Sensematic Mechanical Pencil, 0.7mm Lead, Silver, 2 Count

These are easy to use and feel like regular pencils in the hand. They are not bulky like most mechanical pencils. The fact that I do NOT have to constantly click and adjust to advance the lead in these Sensematic pencils is a gift! The lead does not get wasted due to unwanted breaking because these pencils consistently have the correct amount of lead advancement while you write. I will be purchasing more Ticonderoga Sensematic mechanical pencils because my kids have asked to use the first pack I bought.

Love Ticonderoga products. The lead is long lasting, never needs sharpening, and perfect for my needs.

I was really looking forward to getting these pencils because Ticonderoga is my favorite brand for wooden pencils and erasers, and this was the first time I'd seen that they had a mechanical pencil in their brand. I like using a mechanical pencil, but often the erasers on those smear/don't wipe clean when you use them--specifically on newsprint or puzzle books. As far as the eraser goes, this one seems to be as good as the traditional ones on Ticonderoga pencils. It does a good job and doesn't smear. But the way the mechanical pencil works it only allows just a tiny bit of lead to come out at a time, which sometimes causes me to tear my paper if I don't angle the pencil just the right way. The pencil does stay sharp, but it doesn't have the smooth writing feel that their regular pencils do. I probably won't be buying these again, but I will continue using the ones I have.

I absolutely love this mechanical pencil. It writes smooth and feels comfortable in my hand. I take manual notes daily, and I haven't had to refill the lead from my original purchase in Aug. I love the way the lead comes out automatically vs having to click to progress the lead. I believe this is the factor in how well my lead is lasting. It progresses the perfect amount! My only con, if I had to add one, is it doesn't have a clip to hold it in a pen/pencil holder of an open note pad. That said, I have dropped this pencil numerous times and it hasn't broke! Totally worth it!

The Ticonderoga Sensematic Mechanical Pencils are my new favorite! The 0.7mm lead is just the right size, not too thick or thin, and it writes smoothly every time. I love the silver design; it looks sleek and feels nice in my hand. What sets these apart is the automatic lead advance, no clicking necessary! It’s super convenient and makes writing or sketching feel seamless. Plus, they’re durable enough to handle daily use without any issue. With two pencils in the pack, it’s a great value, and I always have a backup ready. If you want a mechanical pencil that’s both stylish and functional, I’d totally recommend these!

The overall design is what prompted me to buy this as I liked the idea of the standard #2 pencil form factor but as a mechanical pencil. I own a Pentel Orenz which uses the same auto feeding lead mechanism but arguably does it much better (it is afterall a more expensive pencil). With that being said I was not expecting the world from this given its an avg of 4$ a pencil, however the lead advancement mechanism often sticks due to it being made from cheap plastic at the tip vs a small metal assembly that could arguably be within the manufacturing budget. A neat plus of this pencil is the built in lead storage found by unscrewing the eraser. Overall id say grab them if youd like a cheapish alternative to a standard #2 pencil that has a little flavor to it, otherwise if you want a good pencil go for uni kuru toga for about the same cost.

Better than the pentel orenz at for sure. The plastic advancing tip reduces scratch compared to other advancing pencils that use metal drafting sleeves. But, the stock lead is TERRIBLE. Swap it out immediately for pentel hi-polymer 2B or softer. Also, only load the pencil with ONE lead at a time, or else it might jam. Keep the rest in the storage area in the eraser piece. I took one apart for science. DO NOT PULL OFF THE FRONT PIECE. The mechanism is in the tip (black and blue piece), the rest is a feeding mechanism designed so the long back piece pushes a single lead into the clutch. The eraser cannot be removed.

Not as practical as I would have thought for a primary student. However for adults they're great.

These pencils are awesome. I love that you don’t have to keep refilling the lead and they just keep going and going and going. I used them in my classroom and they are the best.
