This is a nice gate that I put at the top of a staircase to baby proof it. Once installed, it has a good solid feel and a latch that is both easy to use but feels secure. It was a little tricky to install since you really have to line up both sides very precisely or the gate won't be at the right height to latch on the top and the bottom. There is an adhesive on the backs of the brackets to assist in the placement but none of the adhesive actually stuck to the surfaces. Also, it's hard to line up both ends unless someone else is helping you which was not my case. I actually had to adjust two of the brackets after I set it up to get them in the correct position. Fortunately, the adjustment covered the prior holes that I made. Once it was finished, I am happy with the product. This is one of those DIY projects that is not too hard to do and not too easy to do at the same time. I'm sure this would be the same issue with any similar products so don't let it discourage you from buying this one.

We liked this baby gate so much we ended up buying a second one! It’s incredibly sturdy and gives us great peace of mind knowing it’s truly childproof—honestly, most adults even struggle to figure out how to open it at first. This gate was mildly confusing for a minute, but I think the instructions are pretty clear. It’s super easy to install. Absolutely love this gate. A lot of baby gates have the little bottom ledge that you kind of have to step over. But we love this one because it doesn’t have any kind of ledge underneath it. It also opens all the way, which is really really nice if you’re trying to move stuff through it. And if it’s closed at all after being opened all the way, it will self close. It does close kind of hard, which makes me nervous so I just like to close it myself. It’s one of the best baby gates we’ve had. And I really recommend it because the kids are not figuring it out at all. You have to lift up a little bit to open it and so it’s nice cause my kids haven’t figured it out. And for anybody that has kids, you know the kids will figure out how to use the gate. I also like that it’s taller so that’s nice as well so the kids can’t climb it. It’s really sturdy and we love it. It doesn’t look weird being in the house at all. And we like the color. It’s just a nice crisp color. It’s not super heavy or bulky. But it’s sturdy. I would really recommend this gate and I think it’s really good for the price.

This seems to be a very nice gate. Installation was not too difficult, just have to measure carefully and then measure again. Learn how it operates before starting installation. After installation it seems to work well. I like that it is totally out of the way when open and not in use, almost like it isn't there. My only complaint is that when installed in drywall, the supplied anchors work but don't feel like they are durable enough to handle daily use for the growth time of a child or children. I have a grandchild coming for a few days and I feel that the gate will be fine. If I had growing children, then I would replace the dry wall anchors with heavy duty toggle bolt anchors.

That said, having prior experience with installation likely contributed to the ease this time around, so new users might still find it slightly challenging. This gate shines in areas where pressure-mounted gates fall short. The absence of a bottom bar is a game-changer. It eliminates tripping hazards (particularly important for grandparents, and for stairs) avoids damage to wood floors, and allows our Roomba to pass underneath for uninterrupted cleaning. We installed the gate slightly higher than recommended for this exact reason, which has worked perfectly for our household; Roomba works even with the gate closed! The gate’s full-width opening is another major plus. It provides ample space for anyone to pass through comfortably, and the dual-direction opening is a thoughtful touch. The auto-close feature works reliably, and the stay-open option is convenient when we need the gate temporarily out of the way. Construction feels solid and secure; our kid hangs from it constantly and it hasn't bent/warped. The double-lock mechanism adds an extra layer of safety, though it does take a bit of getting used to. I find the one-handed operation easy, but it’s slightly less intuitive for my wife and visitors unfamiliar with it. Overall, we’re very happy with this gate. Its combination of safety, convenience, and sleek design makes it well worth the investment. Whether you’re looking to keep kids safe or pets contained, this gate is an excellent choice. We highly recommend it to anyone in need of a high-quality, hassle-free safety gate.

Very solid gate. I am really pleased with the sturdiness of this. The instructions were pretty good. I had it up in 10 minutes. I love that it is a door frame screw in because it will be super solid. The latch and lift seems pretty nice. I had ordered a different type gate, and installed, ultimately having to return because the latch would not work. I will be ordering a second one but taller for another doorway with good confidence in what I will receive. I definitely recommend.

The height of the gate was perfect, about waist high. It is easy to use and operate for my aging Mother. The mounting would be easy for someone with straight sides, on both sides of the gate. The gate is well made and a good value.

HORRIBLE instructions. They appear to be AI generated and translated from another language. They just make no sense at all, nothing is label, too many screws were sent (we needed 8, they sent over 20 in two different sizes) The gate is also assembled very poorly so it doesn’t lift easily when you unlock it, leading the entire thing to shift and become unlevel. It’s very annoying having to fix it each time we open and close it. I will add the gate itself does look nice and it does open 90 degrees in both directions which is a major plus. I really dislike going through gates when we don’t need them, so it’s nice being able to keep this one open to have full access to doorways. It also looks really nice and is very tall/sturdy. With that said, I do not recommend for this price point whatsoever. It needs to be half off due to poor instructions and becoming easily misaligned when used

We were looking for a no-fuss, pressure-mounted temporary baby gate that ideally wasn't the usual ugly white cheap plastic crap. This metal gate exceeded all our expectations. Not only is it immensely sturdy at only a fraction of the price more than the cheap quality stuff, the wood look finish was an added plus. From close you can obviously tell that it's not real wood, but from far it does the trick and blends perfectly with our staircase. 10/10 highly recommend. We even decided to buy two more and our house is perfectly puppy/baby proof!

This is a great baby gate that I am using to keep my dogs out of the basement. It was super easy to install. It has a nice rustic look to it; it looks like wood, but it is made of metal. It’s great quality!
