Delighted with it
The Trond BT-Duo S arrived promptly and well packaged. It's very compact, smart, and came with clear, well written and detailed instructions. I use it mainly to stream music (classical, pop, rock) from my HiFi (Cyrus Lyric) to a set of AKG N60 wireless headphones which I bought at the same time as the Trond device. Ease of operation, range and performance are all very good. There 's no noticeable drop in sound quality between using the Trond with my HiFi and using the wireless headphones directly with my iPAD. I also for interest's sake used the Trond to connect my Panasonic TV with the wireless headphones and didn't notice any significant lag between image and sound. I've only used the Trond in transmission mode, not as a receiver. The only (minor) issue is that the Trond website referenced in the instructions doesn't seem to exist, though they also provide an email address.

Almost perfect Bluetooth transmitter/receiver
I have several pairs of high quality Bluetooth headphones which work great with my smartphone, but wouldn't play nicely with my Windows 10 PC. I previously tried a cheap USB Bluetooth adapter, but the sound quality was rubbish - lots of lag and crackling. This Trond Bluetooth DUO device works almost perfectly with my PC. It supports AptX Low Latency for the best sound quality. It's definitely much better than the cheap USB Bluetooth adapter I was using before. Pairing with my Bluetooth headset was easy. The hardest part is remembering what button presses are required! 3 seconds on the multi-function button (MFB) turns the device on or off. To enter pairing mode, it's a quick double tap on the MFB. There's a red and blue LED - different combinations of flashing lights mean different things... you have to refer to the user manual to understand the flashes, which is a little annoying. Would it have cost much more to have several different LEDs with little icons to indicate their purpose? Even basic home Internet routers have several LEDs with icons. This Trond device stopped working once during the first month of use. I had to switch it to receive mode and then back to transmit, then re-pair with my headphones, then it started working again. One unfortunate problem is the noise generated when you have the power plugged in - you can hear low-level static interference while music plays. Not good. I would have happily paid more for a device that didn't suffer with such basic electrical interference. For the price this device is fantastic. I just wish it was a little easier to use, with separate buttons for different functions and more LEDs so I didn't have to remember what all the morse code flashes mean! And the static noise while charging is a real shame.

Great for high quality low latency use with TV
I chose this product over others because it not only supported aptX low latency mode, but also indicated the currently active audio codec through the blue LED indicator. Initially I had problems pairing this with my TROND BT-RX S (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01M9I0LSK/), and so contacted eTROND customer services. They were great, replying back to me very quickly, and pointed out that the flashing blue LED meant that the TROND BT-DUO S had instead paired with another active Bluetooth device, in my case our Samsung TV elsewhere in the house! Having ensured all other Bluetooth devices were turned off, the BT-DUO S and BT-RX S paired immediately. The flashing blue LED confirmed the aptX low latency codec was active, and indeed there were no signs of the lip-sync problems I have had with other wireless transceivers used to connect headphones to the TV. The quality of the sound is also very good. Highly recommend.

Works great...
...sort of!!! Maybe an audio efficiency artefact, but you can perceive the silence as it seems the sound is complete cut out, kinda like when you have low quality MP3s, at the low spots, then re-appears when the movie sound increases. Initially, I was a big fan of it, but having tried it with my bluetooth headphones and speakers, I'm certain of this behaviour... and I don't like it! When the audio level is sufficient though, it sounds great, hence the 3 stars. :-/

Excellent Product, and brilliant Customer Care Service!
Cannot fault this amazing little gadget!! Took me a little while to get it up and running, but it was truly worth every penny. I have tried this as both a Reciever and a Transmitter, and the results are awesome. I contacted Customer Care as was initially having difficulties working out how to pair on my headphones and mini Tank speaker, and they explained in detail in an Email exactly what to do. Very clear and concise instructions that were obvisouly written by someone who knew what they were talking about. So many times I have been fobbed off with customer services, but not with Trond. If you decide to buy the product, you can buy with confidence. This is true value for money, and Customer Care will take care of you if you run into any difficulties - they were very quick to reply to me and were more than helpful - makes a pleasant change in this day and age.

Great product
Have two of these. One is sending from my receiver to the other one and here I use headphones with cable. Why you ask? Sony flagship Z9D lacks the basic ability to send audio over Bluetooth. Secondly, if it did I would doubt APTX ll would be provided which means that you will suffer heavily from lipsync. So one is acting as transmitter and the second as receiver. This works fine except one thing. What thing!? With this setup, depending on your type of earphone/headphones you might experience background noise. You will probably not have background noise if you only use one as transmitter and using a Bluetooth earphone directly connected to it (hopefully you have aptx ll). Why? Don't really know but you can get rid of this background noise if you find the right headphones. In fact my older Steel Series (gaming headset for PC) works perfectly without any noise issues. Monster pro turbine, vsonic, Samsung earphones etc all gave background noise. Problem solved with the Steel Series. Awesome! Now the sound quality is very good. People who says otherwise must have crappy earphones or a faulty unit. Please be careful when turning off the receiver as the unit makes a pip-sound (very very loud). Not sure if it will make this sound if battery runs out. It does have interference if I cover the unit in my hand but nothing while in my pocket!? Initially I bought their silver-unit which act only as a reciever but it got much much more background noise. Never tried my Steel Series with it so can't say for sure if it would have been gone or not. Summary. If your BT headphones have aptx ll you are probably safe to background noise and lipsync issues. I didn't hear anything with my non-aptx bose 35. If you use wired headphones and use this unit as receiver and tv (or whatever) as transmitter you are probably safe for background noise. The noise will be there if you use two of them. Then try all headphones you have to make it less. 5 stars if the volume buttons is one step adjustment instead of holding the button down AND if the pip during power it off is reduced /removed.

Very useful device
I bought the Trond Bluetooth receiver/ transmitter to use as a receiver with some wired in ear headphones to pair with my metal detector which is Bluetooth low latency capable. I've only used this this device a few times so far and only in receiver mode but so far I am very happy with it!. Firstly- initial pairing of the device to my metal detector was straight forward without any issues whatsoever!. Secondly- once paired they continued to connect without a problem after having switched off the device and my metal detector and switching back on. Thirdly- when in use I haven't so far lost the connection, and Fourthly- I can confirm that this device is Low Latency as advertised because my metal detector has an indicator (a + sign) that pops up on the screen if it detects a low latency Bluetooth connection whereas if the device isn't low latency this + sign doesn't show up- when connecting this device to my detector I do get the + indicator!. Low latency is obviously important when metal detecting because you don't want much lag between running your metal detector coil over a target and when you hear the signal through the headphones otherwise it would be difficult to know where to dig your hole!. The battery life appears good so far and although there isn't an indicator to let you know the battery status I have done two consecutive metal detecting sessions each of which was between 3 and 4 hours without charging between trips and there was still power in the device. Because I don't want to risk running out of battery when out metal detecting I will err on the side of caution and charge the device before I've used it for the claimed 9 hour battery life- although from my experience so far I assume that the battery life claimed in the instructions of approx 9 hours is most likely correct but I haven't tested this as not used the device until power has been completely depleted. As for longevity/ durability of the device- I can't say at the moment as I have only used it in total 3 times so far and only charged it twice so far. I plan on using this device a lot more so may provide an update with how it continues to operate. If this device continues to work as it has so far then that would be great because at the moment I am very happy with how it works and can thoroughly recommend it!.

I wish I could stop the annoying beeping.
The product does what it promises however within seconds of the music or movie dialogue stops it starts bleeping. It's very ANNOYING!. Also the connection is a bit unstable giving jittery sound which will only stop after repairing which you need to do EVERY SINGLE TIME. I'm very disappointed as the unit looks good and it sounds good so much so that I would have used it with my non bluetooth headphones, however, most of the time it would have been in my bedroom but with that ANNOYING beeping it won't let me get any sleep so I'm returning it fast.
