Good Grips Silicone Jar Spatula, White

A fairly typical baker's spatula often used to wipe around a bowl to remove as much of its ingredients as possible and shaped to approximately match the rounded bottoms of some bowls and the squared ones of others. "OXO Good Grips Silicone Medium Spatula - White" is partly of silicone which will make it quite heat-resistant should it be used while cooking and, as part of the 'OXO Good Grips' range, provides an excellent grip with its soft-touch handle. The blade is neither too stiff nor too soft and works well. The overall length is sufficient to keep your fingers out of a sticky mixture and away from the heat if used when cooking. A long-term fan of the brand, the original introduction came courtesy of an Occupational Therapist who provided a product for use by an older relative with arthritis to enable her to continue to bake and cook, both of which she loved doing. Additional OXO products were later purchased to further assist that individual and later for personal use when incapacity took hold on the original user. Several items are now owned and regularly used simply because of their inherent quality, excellent design and easy usability. They may be slightly more expensive than some competing products, but the price difference isn't great and more than compensated by greater functionality. This is to replace another which is all nylon, very stiff and more easily heat damaged. This is by far the superior product on several levels.

I use this silicone spatula on my pots to prevent them getting scrapped or damaged and this is a great alternative to wooden spoons or metal kitchen utensils. I have found this washes well, it is sturdy and strong and perfect for everyday use. So far it has not discoloured and I have also washed it in the dishwasher. It has a non slip handle for easy gripping and a hole in the handle where you could put a piece of string and hang it it. My spatula fits in my cutlery drawer when not in use or in the dishwasher. I only bought one but may by another as it is very useful.

Bought this item to use with my Vitamix and it is fantastic gets so much food out from around the blades and so easily. I would buy OXO products initially as I have arthritis in my right hand but they are much more, all of the OXO products that I have are so beautifully designed and actually do what they claim so don't just get left in the draw after a few uses. I'm glad I bought 2 and check out the comparison video one of the other reviewers has left, its all you need to see!

I was wanting a small rubbery spatula for using on my jars of mayo/jam/mustard etc when they get low. I was wanting something small and extremely flexible that would also last. There are tons of cheaper non brands out there and I didnt want to waste my money on something that wouldnt last. This looked the closest I could find. Now that its here, its larger than I wanted, the handle is quite long, I dont think it needs to be this long - I mean how big are flipping jars??? The spatula part is okay, I was hoping for something more flexible but saying that Im sure will do the job. Its just bigger and firmer than I personally was looking for. I will be keeping it until I find something better. Im happy to get the good make as Im sure it will last. Someone please make smaller kitchen items, we are not all huge blinking ogres!

I love Oxo silicone utensils. Unlike nylon utensils they don't melt or burn during use and so last a lot longer and don't poison you with acrid smoke and molten plastic in your food. This spatula is wonderful for baking - it's so much easier to get batter or cake mix out of bowls and jugs using this utensil. It's also great for sliding between the baked cake and the wall of the cake tin / tray when you want to get your freshly baked items onto a plate or cooling rack. A great buy!

I love this spatula as it's so handy for getting into jars and scraping out the last bits. Also really good for baking, as you can have more manoeuvrability. Longterm use can cause a split across the spatula though.

I was on the lookout for a sturdy spatula as the others that I've got are no good. This one is good as what one might expect of OXO products the only thing that I don't like about it is the handle is a bit thicker than what I would like it to be. I suffer from carpal tunnel and it always get trigged whenever I use this. Oh well, I should have tried to see how I would get on with it in real life.

Well made spatula with good handle - it is what it says. The Oxo Good Grips range are generally very good for those who find cheaper utensils hard to hold although the handles can be a bit large on some items for people with small hands. The general build quality is very good.

Great product. Well made, easy to clean and works well. Zero complaints.

Perfect size and flexibility

Me ha gustado mucho la calidad de esta espátula y mas comparandola con otros modelos de otras marcas o incluso de esta misma. Acabados muy finos, tacto agradable y punta bastante rígida. Además tiene algo muy importante a valorar en comparación con la mayoría de de espátulas de silicona y es que la juntura con el mango está a media altura, facilitando mucho el limpiado y evitando que se meta comida por la ranura, cosa muy fácil de suceder cuando ésta está en la parte baja. También aguanta una temperatura mas alta que la de la mayoría de espátulas de la competencia (315º). En definitiva, un producto muy recomendable.
