Review: A second helping of Garfield! - I bought this book almost immediately after enjoying the first volume of the Garfield 'Fat Cat 3-Pack' series. Volume 2 contains Garfield's third, fourth and fifth book ('Weighs In', 'Takes The Cake' and 'Eats His Heart Out'). Kicking off where the previous left off, this anthology contains all of Garfield's comic strips from March 31 1980 to June 7 1981, in full colour. The humour in Jim Davis' strip is always first rate, and here can we see the strip progress further. Notable mentions include the start of Lyman's appearances becoming less frequent, and extended stories, spread across a week or two are are starting to appear, such as Jon and Garfield's holidays and Garfield in the city pound. It was a great idea of Jim Davis to start setting the strip in other places aside from the house, because the feline is being given more scope to say and do other things. It's interesting to be able to have such strips in chronological order as well, because you soon realise that some of these story lines are what inspired the two TV specials: 'Here Comes Garfield' and 'Garfield In Paradise'. In short, another great book and i'll be buying the third volume soon.

This is a great comic for the price! It’s massive!

Side splitting laughter!
Bought a second one of these for my son who absolutely adores Garfield. He’s a Calvin and Hobbes fan so I thought he might like Garfield’s dry wit. Absolutely he does. We can hear him giggling away in his bedroom every couple of minutes. He loves him, the comics are great and I will be buying more!

Good value Garfield compendium

I really love Garfield - especially the "old" one. In this book you'll find older comicstrips from the orange meatball with stripes =) If you don't mind the early layout you will have fun with this book. I would buy it again anytime!
