Women in Science: 100 Postcards

Fantastic set of postcards every class should have a set! These are brilliant- I bought these for my son to give to his classmates instead of cards when he moved schools. Beautiful illustrations with a quote by the scientist, or about them, and details of their specific expertise and what made or makes them special. A wide range to demonstrate that scientist don't just work in labs but also underwater, in space and just about anywhere you can think of. Great to inspire boys and girls, women and men -bought for my children but I've learned just as much as them. Really hope the illustrator/author does a set of postcards for her Women in Sport book soon too.

Brilliant! Excellent value and fascinating. So many interesting stories of women across the world and across history. One I found fascinating was the incredibly glamorous 30s and 40s Hollywood star Heddy Lamar. She co-invented a system that improved targeting of torpedoes and limited the risks of enemy radio-interference. The invention is credited with being a major step to creation of WiFi. Look on the web as her life story is fascinating. I gave the cards to Year 12 Science student to write to themselves an inspirational encouragement, from themselves, that they would receive in the post a few months before their A levels.

I’m a science teacher and brought these to give out to the students who are working well. Wasn’t expecting much but these are beautiful! The illustrations are amazing and there is a quote from each scientist - love them! Might keep some for myself.

Great little postcards with beautiful pictures and descriptions. These are great to send out for thank you notes, etc. as they are small. They all have the most wonderful pictures on them with short descriptions of women who are lesser-known in science but have made substantial impacts in the field. I

These are great. I've been giving them out as reward postcards at my school. I like the variety of STEM women that are celebrated. Each postcard has an illustration of the scientist and some information about them. I like the fact that you get 2 copies of each postcard, one to send and one to keep. You can also get them in a book.

Bought these as good luck cards for an a level chemistry class. They look great, the postcards are of good quality most importantly they show lots of women scientists that people may not have come across.

What a great collection of women scientists, some well known, some I've never heard of. I am sending these to a friend, one a week, who is really enjoying them. It inspires us to look up the scientist to find out more.

科学や数学の分野で活躍した女性のパイオニア達のポストカードブックです。 親しみ易い可愛いデザインで50種類が2枚ずつ計100枚入っています。 科学の分野には詳しくないので知らない女性の方が多いのですが、 彼女たちの功績や言葉などがデザインされていて読んでいると楽しいです。 それぞれの女性の個性をリスペクトしたイラストやデザインだと思います。 個人的には映画Hidden Figures（邦題ドリーム）で描かれた、NASAで活躍した 黒人女性数学者のカードがあったのが嬉しかったです。 切手を貼る場所のデザインもそれぞれ違い凝ってます。 万年筆でも書きやすそうな紙質ですが、通常こういった100枚入りのポストカードブックだと 取り出しやすいように付いているリボンがなく、カードが出しにくいのが残念ですね。 でもそれ位我慢します！

Pas mauvais mais je reste un peu déçue malgré tout Il y a beaucoup de femmes étazuniennes (ou en tous cas aux noms anglo-saxons), on aurait aimé bien plus de diversité. Pour la France, uniquement Marie Curie (encore heureux quand même !). 100 cartes, chacune est en deux exemplaires.

Le cartoline sono di ottima qualità, le immagini sono molto nitide e stampate su cartoncino spesso. Sono un po' più strette delle cartoline classiche (15,1 x 9,6 cm) ma comunque più che sufficienti per scrivere un messaggio e spedirle. Arrivano all'interno di un bel box in cartone spesso che contiene 100 cartoline, 2 per ogni soggetto. L'unica cosa che manca e avrei aggiunto : un elenco di tutte le donne raffigurate

Two sets of 50 women scientists so I gave one set to a friend and I'm framing the other one for my library. Didn't know most of them. Definitely recommend everyone to get to know them.
