You're going to need to screw directly into studs or use wall anchors for the weight of these brackets alone. They do not come with screws so you will need to make additional purchases. Two out of four brackets colors matched and were what I expected - a very dark brown - and the others were a matte and shiny black (see photo, one on left is shinier). I like that they have plenty of screw holes to really keep it secure. The holes are a little cramped though, you have to be careful if you use a drill. Best to drill a pilot hole and screw in by hand.
