Great for dog hair in pool
Absolutely love this! I have a filtered pump, and itโs working so much more efficiently since I bought this! We have 2 dogs obsessed with swimming, and it grabs most of their hair before it goes into the pool pump filters. Wish I would have bought it a year ago when we bought our house with a pool!

Excellent Product
I bought this product in April and have had a good 5 months to use it in the extreme heat of Arizona and this product still looks new. I have a diving pool that collects leave droppings daily from my next door neighbor with a Ficus tree and my neighbor behind me with a 75 foot Pine tree who has never trimmed it. It has been a battle since 2009 to find a quality in-line leaf canister that is durable and can handle the mess. I noticed a huge difference right away, this canister is larger, the material is stronger, the handle and body of the canister is seamless so the handle won't break off, the inside bag is strong, the the design is smart , there are no clips or hinges on the lid that will break off when opening and closing. I have neuropathy in my hands and I have had no issue getting the lid off. I have bought numerous Hayward and Pentair leaf canisters in the past many years and their handles broke off multiple times and the hinges also broke on the lid of the Pentair. They both have design flaws that have never been fixed. I also had to lubricant the O-ring of both to to pry the lid off. Swimables designed a perfect leaf canister that will last and I'm happy I don't have to continue to waste money on the other leaf canisters that constantly break.

Great product
Works as intended. Top is pretty hard to unscrew. But catches the leaves.

Swimables Inline Leaf Canister exceeded expectation
Although Swimables is a less familiar brand, the compatibility of this Inline Leaf Canister was satisfactory for a nominal saving of $10 or so, compared to the Hayward or Pentair. It performs the same function. There is no compromise because of its similar plastic composition, structure, or design. The shipping/packaging was sufficient to ensure undamaged, intact delivery. Easy installation.

Solid
I don't have a ton of experience with a leaf catcher, but this one seems to be about as solid as I could imagine. All of the components seem to be made with high quality material. Everything is precise and fits together well. No issues getting the top to unscrew and it seems to seal well. And, while not the cheapest out there, it is competitive on pricing. I'm guessing that I'm good for several years now. It was shipped on time and actually arrived a couple of days earlier than promised. No issues.

works great and collects more leaves than my skimmer.
works great and collects more leaves than my skimmer. I only clean it once every couple of weeks where I had to clean the skimmer every few days before.

Get those Leaves
If you get a lot of leaves in your pool, this in-line filter will make life easier. Instead of having the stop down the pump, empty the basket and prime the pump, all you have to do is remove this from the line to the pool vac and empty it. Just hold the suction end of the hose under water while removing the filter, connect the other end, and clean out the filter. It holds a lot of leaves and captures some sediment.

Built like a tank, but...
Really solid construction, but I found it quite hard to get the cover off the first time I cleaned it out. I don't think it would cut too much into Swimable's profit margin to include a 1-page sheet of tips for use. Swimables doesn't seem to provide YouTube videos either, but I found 2 from pool maintenance pros that caught my attention: One suggested stepping on the inflow part of the cover, once the screw-down portion is removed, and the other suggested that removing the O-ring from the cover and fitting it over the collar of the net bag after that has been inserted into the main housing allows the cover to remain easy to remove while preserving an airtight seal. The first worked and the second is in the experimental stage in my pool. I do not guarantee either solution. FYI, some pool pros said to regularly lube the O-ring; others said don't lube it at all. I imagine most people who use the O-ring as intended should regularly lube it, though they are replaceable, as are the net bags which get stains from the plant material.
